Can you say bye bye AC? Might as well! Guardian, the new pink panther in City Hall wants to sock it to taxpayers in AC in the next two years with a 44% tax hike! Would you live in a town where your taxes shot up 44% in two years to pay for what? Thanks to corporate and municipal "leadership" in that "city", like Camden, the State is going to have to bail their sorry asses out! So goes AC, so goes the State! Scary, huh? All because these bozos could not think their way out of a paper bag and just for ONCE, stop thinking about their political and corporate asses and think about the people who LIVE THERE!
Couldnt have said it better myself, you hit the nail right on the head my friend. A.C. is in a real sad state of affairs & it looks as if his puzzle..hahaha, wont be solved anytime in the near future. Its baaaaaad..just wait & see, its going to get much worse before we even begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
In closing, AC city council & 90% of the cities municipal leaders...have the foresight of a dead possum with its eyeballs removed. Chris Christie gets the blame also, on what i consider to be the most ludacris move AC made by allowing all these vagrants/homeless/mentally ill/substance dependent...lost souls to be 'shipped' to the resort town, from counties all over NJ....for the purpose of housing them at the AC Rescue Mission due to inefficient space "in their counties". Yeah so ok, basically they dumped all of their problem children on us 'pulling a page right out of Fidel Castros book of logic' and AC city council went for it hook, line & sinker.
Im ok with rescue missions..im not ok with my city being used & manipulated.
Take a drive down Atlantic ave during the afternoon, night or morning. Its like attack of the living dead out there most days...and these roaming..lost souls with obviously no place to go all day long, are all over the city. Its ashame but we shouldnt have to foot the bill for residents from other counties. It has killed AC's image for many locals & tourists alike...who wants to be on vacation & while at a traffic light you glance over to see an obviously homeless elderly guy with a walker, receiving oral sex..behind a city trash container from one of the many ladies of the night. Bad, bad image for the city.

I had been coming to AC for about 15 years to play the slots. I quit coming last year. Years ago when they tried the no smoking ban that was going to be my last time but that changed and I kept coming. Last year I did make it my last time as Caesers upped the number of points to make platinum. Over the years it has gone from 3000 to 4000 and now it is 5000, Years ago I was Diamond. Little by little the have squeezed out the little player. I think the penny machines hurt the casino too. This is suppose to be high profit from them because its so hard to win on a penny machine. With max bet over a dollar a spin you may as well play a dollar machine. What they ended up with was a bunch of people who played 5 or 9 lines playing a penny a line. Not much profit when 60 people from a bus are all doing that. For the record I live in Pa but do not play casinos in Pa. I go to New York or West Virginia. I also do not go to casino that does not allow smoking.

Ever since when I had originally cut this post and first drew a lot of heat over it, a lot has gone down and we are up to four casinos and counting, closing their doors, throwing an estimated 7,000 workers under the bus. Horrible! I do not gloat over my accurate prediction back then, but I told you so! And it's only going to get worse! The no minded fruitcake for a mayor in that town, can only create gay friendly beaches, make rationales about how the city's economy is shifting to a non-casino economy, instead of voicing outrage over how the city is falling on it's ass and will most likely never recover. Making gay friendly beaches is NOT the solution to AC's plight as no family with small children, will want to expose their little ones to that element and I don't blame them one bit!
