Can you say bye bye AC? Might as well! Guardian, the new pink panther in City Hall wants to sock it to taxpayers in AC in the next two years with a 44% tax hike! Would you live in a town where your taxes shot up 44% in two years to pay for what? Thanks to corporate and municipal "leadership" in that "city", like Camden, the State is going to have to bail their sorry asses out! So goes AC, so goes the State! Scary, huh? All because these bozos could not think their way out of a paper bag and just for ONCE, stop thinking about their political and corporate asses and think about the people who LIVE THERE!

That's what wrong with sounding off and knocking people or parties or government down you don't have or give any suggestions on doing what ever needs to be done any better or differant .... So josh tell us how you would run the city??

Sure, "Jersey Dude",, how about, as a suggestion, NOT raise people's taxes 44%? Huh? How would YOU like to see your tax bill, if you are not a renter, jump through the roof. The town has had 30, count em', 30 YEARS, to get off of it's ass and all it's doing is falling FLAT on it's ass! And guess what? AC WILL require a bailout, like Camden! Ready to fork over your money to get that City off it's butt? Let me know!!!

The latest!!! FBI statics came out on the most violent cities in New Jersey. No surprise, Camden came in at #1. Guess what city came in right behind Camden in crime? Paterson? No. Trenton? No Newark? No, wrong again. It was DO AC, imagine that, folks!!! And Jersey Dude wants me to come up with a solution to that crap hole city's problems! Give me a break!!!

Not a prophet but he was right personally I like to see AC be want it was the play ground of the world get rid of all schools bull doze the hold neighbors move all residents out relocate them on the mainland some where and then make AC like an east coast Monte Carlo party city with just high rises shopping Restraunts and a party atmosphere " lights always turn on".....

Guess we all saw the news about ACY where a jet came all the way from Chicago and the mayor was there to greet the passengers. Care to guess how many people were on that jet? Try only 15 people! I see the same amount of traffic when I take the bus from Philly to AC. And they think this will give the city the needed kick in the pants to get it moving? You tell me! Not to mention that traffic to AC's down on the AC Expressway to the point at they're now going to raise the toll rates to pay the bills! Sorry t say, the bloom is off the rose. Sorry to say, guess that what happens when you have the mentality that if you build it, they will come, along with a laundry list of other factors thrown in, as well! 30 years to get the ball rolling and all they did was DROP the ball!

wow, so much hate for AC. Fortunately, you can whine all day but no one is going to "bulldoze" AC. But the city do need to take care of the crackheads and drug dealer roaming the city streets.

I still don't agree with these stats. I mean two people were killed this year and around 18 last year. That many get killed on a weekend in chicago. So I guess if you want to "bulldoze" AC start with Chicago, DC etc...

And oh yeah... DO AC

You want some stats? Here's one for you, right off of the front page of The Press of Atlantic City in the April 8th edition and I quote the headline "Casino earnings off 35% in 2013" unquote! Nothing to do with "hate" AC, it's reality! Wake up and smell the coffee, fella! "Take care of the crackheads and drug dealers" , sure, why don't YOU take care of them and out of your pocket, not out of the poor slobs pockets in that city that will be hit with a 44% increase in their taxes next year! Duh! Last person out of that city, turn out the lights!

Hi EVERYBODY. I saw the future in 2004? When I went to a council meeting about the master plan & the tag ( main street)- ATLANTIC city. I told the council i think Atlantic city should be a little more like Disneyland for entertainment. Besides the gambling. The council heard that & started laughing their asses off about my comment on Disney entertainment. I said if the economy gets bad for some reason I saw other states like PA, NY DELAWARE MARYLAND voting in casino gambling also. They started laughing again calling Me a fortune teller. WELL what do u know that is what EXACTLY HAPPENED. Do u think the other states surrounding us was going to let money walk out their state. NOT BLOODY LIKELY'. Well DO A.C.. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS NOBODY HOME. U SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE FORTUNE TELLER. ME.

You and I seem to share a common factor. Speak truth and you are laughed at and ridiculed! There are some on this site who, no matter what I post, come down on me like a ton of bricks with insults, accusations, etc. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm no religious nut, or something, but ever hear of John the Baptist, the voice crying in the wilderness? People who make any sense in their time are later revered as being AHEAD of their time after they are long gone! Keep speaking the truth and let the idiots rant. They will ALL go down with the ship of fools they all seem to be on.

Now the latest talk on the walk is they want to close more casinos! Can you believe it? Caesar's casino wants to shut down one of their properties. And how many MORE people will now be thrown under the bus in the name of an economic move to save their ass! Is that fair? How, I ask, are people supposed to live in this area anymore? Bad enough Atlantic Club was shut down to cut the competition, throwing 1,600 people out of their jobs, now this? I say ENOUGH! Where are these big boys we elected while this is going on and people are hurting and struggling, just to stay alive? Sounds like a version of the screwing Sandy victims are getting from the government! But somebody sneezes in some dirt bag third world country and we got to go romping off to wipe their butts for them! Give me a break!!!

While the official beginning of summer is now upon us, all eyes will be on AC to see how the season kicks off. In the meantime, some poor slob on Rhode Island Avenue is being told by the CRDA he has to leave his home of over 30 years because they "have better use of his property." Isn't that what the city needs is taxpayers? This is beyond!

AC would have slight potential to be a wonderful beach resort, like it was nearly a hundred years ago, but it is so far gone, in the pits; a lot of residents(and unaccounted for residents) would have to be relocated, casinos bulldozed into the ocean, and every pest control truck in NJ used to exterminate the overpopulation of bed bugs, fleas, roaches; everything. Sadly, the way things are going, we can be sure this will never happen.

I couldn't agree with you more! Between crooked politicians, the twistos who run casinos put the competition like the Atlantic Club out of business to increase their market share not to mention, put thousands of hard working people out work, makes my blood boil! The industry had 30, count em'. 30 years to get to their act together and simply stated, dropped the ball and looked the other way while the city fell into a rat hole and everyone has to suffer!

Anyone remember my past posts about how AC is falling apart with rising crime and unemployment? Well now for an update on my previous posts. Not only has the AC Hilton gone under and causing 1,600 of it's employees to scramble to put food on their tables and keep a roof over their heads, but now Showboat is going under too in August, despite the fact the property is making money, but Caesar's top dicks see it differently and of course, the Revel is going under, drowning in debt, despite bailouts. And all the new mayor can do is croak how AC has to diversify it's economic base and isn't raising any stink about all these people being thrown under the bus, while next year, he's planning a 44% tax increase. Is this clown mad? This is a town that can't cut a break! You got know nothing politicians running the city, casino execs calling the shots and local, or state officials, aren't challenging their bullshit, sit on their hands, while Rome burns! As I said in a previous post on AC, the last person out, turn out the lights!!!
