I found myself angered by this story upon reading it this morning. I do not find it miraculous that an event like this should occur with the help of in vitro. I, in fact, find the increase of multiple pregancies due to the preponderance of in vitro fertilization very disturbing. I am expecting a set a twins in approx. 1 month - naturally conceived - which was a complete shock, met with a mix of joy and anxiety as my husband and I are a typical middle class couple who did not forsee having to provide for more than one baby - which leads me to the final insult in this particular news story: The hospital will be providing the couple with free diapers for two years. I think that a couple that can afford a procedure which can cost tens of thousands of dollars can afford their own diapers. How about supporting those of us who had no hand in helping nature along!

My sentiments exactly-yet "Sue" told me to lighten up yesterday when I said diapers should be given to all multiple births. Good Luck

Good luck to Nicole. I wish you well with your twins. It's a gift that you were able to conceive naturally. Did you read in the article that they only implanted one embryo and it divided into triplets on it's own? That's a miracle. We should be celebrating these little boys, not finding something negative. I guess you can't please some of the people any of the time.

Wow, you are jealous and bitter. You should just be grateful that you are going to be blessed with twins! People have invitro because they can't conceive on their own...it is a nerve wracking, often disappointing, stressful process and yes it is expensive. Seems to me you should thank your lucky stars you were able to conceive two beautiful babies on your own...without the struggle of infertility.

I understand where you're coming from. I wish I could help you. If I could afford it, I'd help you out. Unfortunately I'm struggling right now (and its just me--no kids) so all I can do is think positive for you and your upcoming twins and your husband. Let me know how things go! Try to keep that smile on your face!*:)*

Poor Nicole. You are a supermom who gets pregnant with twins "naturally" like most other multiple moms. Why whould people who struggle with infertility and then have a 1 in 200 million occurance of identical triplets have the glory of multiples and get free diapers on top of it?

Why be mad at this couple? They didn't ask for the diapers, it was given to them.

I conceived my twins through IVF *gasp*! And guess what Nicole? I didn't pay one red cent for it. Yep, my procedure was covered by my insurance. And my daughters are just as special as your children will be. Maybe even moreso because I actually wanted twins. And since I am feeling extra nasty today... you are in for a few weeks of hell when they are born. Stock up on your sleep now. Ha ha ha.

Lucky for you you were able to conceive the natural way. I am one of the unlucky ones that was not. I had to go through years of tests, surgeries and miscarriages before I was able to carry a baby to full term, thanks to invitro. Until you have been in the shoes of an infertile couple keep your cruel comments to yourself.
As for the free diapers from the hospital, so what. They have given plenty of money to the hospital over the years, much more than you would ever think, and you are complaining about free diapers.
Maybe you and your husband should have thought long and hard about having a family if you are complaining about someone getting free diapers.
You are a goober

Congratulations to all the Moms on this post, children are such a blessing no matter what. At least those couples getting invitro really want children and care for them which is more then I can say for some of our society. Nicole, good luck with your pregnancy and babies, that's all you should worry about now.

I bet it's hormones and anxiety, not jealousy or bitterness that inspired Nicole's post.

Best wishes, Nicole.

I question whether Nicole really wants to be a mother or not. She certainly is not the "Happy" mother she should be. There she stands saying, give me, give me.

You sound a little hormonal, sweetie pie. I can't imagine that kind of angst would be good for you or your babies right now. Chill out and enjoy the ride. Remember, God never gives you more than you can manage. I pray that both of your babies are born healthy.

Nicole, it's hard enough to carry one baby on board, let alone two. But can you imagine three! What if Mom opted to have two of them removed because she only wanted to have a single child. You would have been outraged. I think you are craving attention and affection and are stressed thinking of the economics. It always works out, even without free diapers. I don't think you are jealous per se, I think you are scared. You'll be fine and so will your twins.

Wow, Nicole, what the heck is wrong with you. You should be happy for this couple. I had a friend that spent thousands and thousands to have a baby, and still could not. They end up adopting, spending thousands more. Nicole, be blessed that you were able to concieve on your own and that God is blessing you with two wonderful babies.

I wish you all the luck, because if you are this bitter now, it will only get worse.

I am sad for nicole. She has no idea howww good she has it. My husband and I tried for years to no avail....The marvel of medical science was able to produce us 2 amazing sweet boys. I cherish them more so because of what I went through.

Its a shame to never know whats in front of you, when you get handed everything in life.

Your mad about a gift? Get over it. Call pampers and plead your case. But Im sure the millions of us who had to concieve multiples the unatural way have already beat you to all the free stuff.

Shame on us.

Shame on YOU!
