Obama doesn't care. He is just another smoke blower politician who is self absorbed. My father and mother are buried there. The cemetary is the most haunted cemetary in the world and now it will really be disturbed. Hoogisan

That's what I thought too. I really thought I had seen this on NBC 29 weeks ago.

This is another example of our Federal Governments ability to manage an agency. Gee I can't wait until Obama Care gets started.

This is why traditional press like the WP is so necessary. Do you think the internet sites are capable of uncovering this type of stuff?

Yeah and if we had private industry managing , like AIG or Shearson Lehman, we'd be finding cremains in Chock Full o' Nuts coffee and other parts in Purina Dog Chow.

If you really want to look at Federal blunder take a drive through Kandahar or Karbala (hope I'm not shooting over your head with these complex references...I think they mention these on FAUX News).

You are so right. For instance for the first time in Afganistans history they are building schools for girls and omen. For the first time women are not stoned to death in the streets for talking to a male ho is not a relative. And in Iraq Sadams torture and rape chambers are closed. What a mess!

Now Patriot (and we're so glad that we have PATRIOTS by God)...you do understand 1. the war is being run by *the government*--it's managing an agency called the military and 2. it's Obama's war.

So you're applauding both. Good for you. I thought you were just one of those Nobama/Nogovamint knuckleheads.

Sorry Obama is only continuing what had already been started. Given the same dilemma he would have never fought for this country and you know this to be fact.

Bingo - but don't isolate to Obama programs; it's all the Fed programs. Example UPS vs US Post Office - which is more profitable;
better managed?

Re-use is better than recycling. If the stones had been crushed for gravel, that would take energy. If they were landfilled, that would be disrespectful and not green.

It least the old stones went to a local use where they too rest in peace at the cemetary, and help give life to the stream.

Mr. McLaughlin says good used of the old tomb stones. I think they did. The graves themselves got new tombstones so its not like the grave was disrespected, if anything it was honored with a new stone.

Dang it y'all got me convinced by your irrefutable logic.

So let's get government out:

Highway System: Let car manufacturers provide it
FDIC: Who needs gov't backing? Let banks watch it
FAA: Let airlines manage their flights & safety
FDA: Let pharmaceutical industry decide
ATF: Sell alcohol & cigarettes & firearms; no rules
Border: Let people consuming the big 3 above do it
Defence: Let Cville Patriot do it
Schools: Bible and a hickory stick
Health Care: Let insurance companies do it

Yes sir!!!! We get the government out of things it's going to be a bright new day.

Highway System: Have you ever seen an FDOT truck? This is handled by State and Local.

FDIC: Who needs gov't backing? I'm not entirely in disagreement here.

FAA: You are kidding here right? When is the last time you flew anywhere?

FDA: This agency actually serves a purpose

ATF: This agency serves no purpose. Firearms are handled by the FBI. State and local. Tobacco and booze? Give me a break. There so many laws on the books now just enforce them. Redundant is the correct term for the ATF.

Border: You are really starting to lose it here. Our FED GOV should be fired over the mess they have created. Republicans and Democrats!

Defense: The military is one of the only branches that are run properly. If Obama would only let them fight.

Schools: Bible and a hickory stick. I left your quote in here so that everyone can judge for themselves. The public school system is a disgrace. Get rid of the progressive curriculum and bring back the hickory sticks and I guarantee the schools would improve.

Health Care: "Let insurance companies do it" Actually I say let the doctors handle our health care. But unless we overturn Obama Care you can forget about it...

You actually named only a couple agencies above. There are many more. Can you name one Federal Agency that comes in under budget? I didn't say that we don't need oversight in a few key areas. I just want the fat trimmed off.

OK you want "fat trimmed off". Agreed.

So you want efficient government agencies rather than saying that they should be done away with; if I misunderstood your first post then I apologize.

FDIC: OK you've got 20K in savings and go to the bank to discover that they've gone bankrupt. "Sorry buddy but you're just SOL..." This is what happened on a large scale in 1929. And it ruined lives; you don't want to go there.

Highways: You have heard of the Interstate Highway Act? The Department of Transportation?( http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ ) Thank Dwight Eisenhower, Republican, for this socialist and proper move forward: Pay attention the next time you hear the phrase "Federal Grant Money"...you can be sure the Bob McDonnell does.

FAA: I've flown quite a bit in the last few years. When landing and taking off I'm typically glad that it's not a game of bumper cars.

Defense: "The military is one of the only branches that are run properly." OK, sorry, but this sentence indicates that you're clueless. This is probably THE most wasteful. Where do we start? Toilet seats for $10K (that's not a Jeopardy category). Irag War for...???? Of course we've gained so much by being there. And sadly beyond the economic waste, we've got new candidates for burial in Arlington Cemetary that should have been planning their weddings and building careers and families. Typically they're poor white kids from flyover states that don't have much education or opportunity (note spelling for future reference!). Currently Obama is letting them fight, and I don't think a few girls schools is worth the lives of American youth. The American left is greatly disillusioned with Obama because he is keeping the US in a losing war.

Did you read the Washington Post feature on the explosion of internal security industry? Even Robert Gates is mystified.

Border? Agreed

ATF: Probably should be renamed WTF LOL

Schools: Agree generally. I've taught in them (but decided I wanted to get paid a real salary instead). Kids ought to learn: behaving responsibly and a trade or academic track to university. Screw up and get whupped, figuratively. If parents are screwing up then kid sent to reform school away from parents.

Health Care: If you've got it great. My family income is > 200K, and we've got great health care. So I'm not interested in paying more taxes. I am interested in seeing that the roofer who works in the blistering sun, the woman at the cleaners, the laid-off after 20 years worker, etc. have access to health care too.

Doctors work for money like the rest of us. How do you get people treated? What specifically troubles you about "Obama care"? It's going to be messy and have problems; there's no avoiding that. Leave it to private industry and there will be good health care for elites and a mass of unfortunate *former* working class suffering outside the gated compounds.
