So the recall petitions were "invalid" in Bridgewater?
Yup, King George III said the same thing about the Declarationof Independence.
When citizens have to jump thru hoops to dismiss a public servant
WHO HAS NO RIGHT TO THEIR POSITION, then all doubt is removed that corruption reigns.

King George the Third is exactly my argument. Conservatives have this Founding Father fetish, trying to use their viewpoint to end all discussion. They get really outraged when someone tells them bluntly that we don't give a damn what they might have had to say about something today.
The Founding Fathers had both some great ideas and some rotten ideas, like denying women equal rights or allowing slavery to continue. The Founding Fathers only exercise authority in one matters today ----- the exact wording of the Constitution. And it has been amended many times.
The United States is not a cult, and the founders are not David Koresh running our lives from the grave. Agreed, it would be a big mistake simply to toss all their wisdom away ------ I never advocated that. But while the views of the Founding Fathers should be heard, the only legitimate jury today is the present-day voters.
