I completely disagree with the petition. Although I have only been a resident of Bridgeport, NY for only 6 years, my husband and his family are lifelong residents. By allowing this commercial development we will be increasing the economy for our small lakeside community. This will bring more jobs for our adults and young adults, who currently have to travel several miles to neighboring towns and compete with their own residents and teens for employment. This new development will also increase tourism to our area, as well as surrounding areas. I once read an article in the Bridgeport-Lakeport Times several years back, where a local resident complained about the "look" of our town, and how run down and unkept it had become. Since that articles release the town has undergone a makeover, but why should the business be limited to the small area in the center of town. Construction is underway now for the new Dunkin Donuts, and news was released several months ago about Kinneys relocating and increasing its size. Why is it okay for the Town to authorize the construction of high price Condos across the street from the proposed business park, but this project has been halted for 2 years. I say lets get the ball rolling!

Bridegeport can use all the businesss it can get. I grew up there and moved to Virginia a few years ago and in the old days, we had alot of economic growth in Bridgeport.
