Voters approve sewer district, a first step to halting septic discharge to Oneida Lake

Voters in the Bridgeport area took the first step today in establishing a sewer district, which would eliminate septic discharge into nearby Oneida Lake and Chittenango Creek.

It's too bad that almost 1/2 the voters don't see the benefit of building the sewer system. It's time we residents take responsibility for protecting the lake from contamination, so it doesn't become a sewer.
