Why are some today opposed to Jehovah's Witness and their policies?
Dead People is why.
Ruined lives is why.
False prophecies is why.
A controlling Religious Institution is why.
They are WRONG ON BLOOD TODAY. They are WRONG ON SHUNNING for walking away today. They are WRONG 607 BCE and 1914. They were WRONG ABOUT Vaccinations, Organ Transplants, Alternative Service, End of World Predictions, marital infidelity rules, rape, beards, 1935 and too many things to bother listing here.
Did God make all of these terrible decisions to force on all the JW's, and then change his mind?
Or did a few old MEN, with high ranking positions, sitting around in some Brooklyn office make these poor decisions, force them on all JW's and then change their mind?
Does God serve Bad Food like this?
Perhaps He is not a very good cook?
CHRISTIANITY IS GOD"S ORGANIZATION TODAY. That would mean being a follower of Christ. Not some fraction of Christianity, that has the absolute WORST record of them all in terms of false predictions, doctrinal, medical and oftentimes wacky published as "Food from God" teachings.
Shunning for disagreements is NOT scriptural. Shunning for walking away from the JW faith is NOT scriptural. This is a control mechanism. And it works. It is a gross misapplication of scripture to keep the average JW in line. One cannot even think differently.
I WAS a JW, and an elder as well, until very recently. I am very familiar with how they are actually WORSE than most other faiths today. I am shunned for walking away. People today and for the last 80 years have died, without reason, due to the WT medical policies forced on all JW's.
Each week is filled with a list of JW obligations that basically OWN YOU. You are told what you can read, what movies are acceptable, what association is acceptable, facial hair is okay. What you can celebrate and cannot. What words you are allowed to use.
What is allowed in your own bedroom with your wife. And too many other things to list here again. They are not better than most for me after coming to know all the facts. Before knowing all the facts and believing they were God's True Channel, one can go a very long way to justify all of these things. Take away that one true faith belief and so falls the rest.
I have been there and done all that.
So no other religion tells you want is morally wrong. Are you telling me a priest watches R rated movies and encourges his congregation to watch movies filled with sex and violence? So what about the fight against some movies out there...like Dogma? What church didn't want this movie out? Are you saying that a preacher doesn't counsel his congregation against premarital sex? Are you saying a Church passes out condoms out every Sunday? Interesting!!!!!

no they do mine will make comments but will not throw me out if I do and if i do go see a movie that the says it is wrong well it is decision to go see it and make up my own mind.
i see the difference with the Jw's if someone found out they did do something an elder does not like they could be ruined.

I am free to listen to my church and do what I please.without threat of punishment of some sort or being removed. and yes we went to see all the Harry Potter movies..

Read your Bibles and give us a hope a brighter light!
Your examples of doubt are very very jealous sounding.
All you critics offer nothing better only sound jealous.
What hope does your church offer?
What scriptures do you trust?
Which God shall you call on ?
Peace starts at your own church door...Ask yourself how well you know God ....How well do you know what his view is on this sick and dying world.
Surely your insight and discreet words of faith should be known so we can be impressed with your leaderhsip qualities!
Sound like your all in Politics...now what hope is there in man to solve all the current issues that plague us....Start with solutions and maybe some one may listen!!

I feel the way you do. I was raised a JW and baptised but now have been considering walking away. I haven't so far out of fear but also cause I want answers to the very topics you brought up. Unfortunatly there is no one I can ask or talk to since the only thing I'll be told is not to question and wait on God for the answers. Would you, or anyone for that matter, please email me and help me clear my head and get answers to the questions I have? JWwalking.away@gmail.com
Thank you so much

Why would Jehovah's Witnesses render aid to anybody outside of their own organization? They believe everyone but they themselves will survive the pending war of armegeddon. It would be self-defeating to aid others who are destined to imminent destruction at the war of god the alimight. It is absurd to think that they would help anyone but thier own and even then, only when there is a gain to be had.

Please supply the up-to-date source of your information.
I've been to New Orleans several times since Katrina. I also visit websites pertaining to disaster recovery efforts. I've never read anything about JWs rebuilding and repairing the most homes in New Orleans.
Based on my own observations and testimony of many New Orleanians, the Catholic Charities Association is by far the most benevolent of all organizations aiding in New Orlean's recovery efforts!
It's just despicable that the WTS would create and spread this urban legend, just to make it appear they actually give a damn about the citizens of New Orleans!

Just let the people build and worship as they please...
This type of mindset is why the world is in the mess it is in now!
Religious intolerance has caused more war than anything else!!
If some of you backwards imbeciles spent half of the energy helping your fellow man other than trashing their religions, peace and harmony would be sustainable.
Stop being a judgmental Jackass and contribute something positive to your community.
Isnt that what Christ would want you to do?

BRIDGEPORT — Rebuffed twice by the Planning and Zoning Commission, Jehovah's Witnesses have sued the city to build two connected meeting halls on a Huntington Turnpike lot.

The suit was filed in early December by lawyer Timothy Hollister, of Shipman & Goodwin in Hartford, according to Jeff Gordon, a volunteer for a regional Jehovah's Witnesses building committee.

The lawyer was unavailable for comment. Greg Conte, an associate city attorney who handles zoning issues, was also unavailable.

But Patricia Fardy, the P&Z chairwoman, stood by the board's reasons for denying the Kingdom Hall proposal at 257-269 Huntington Turnpike.

"I'm familiar with the area and the sight line is in question" for the property and passing traffic, she said.

The Jehovah's Witnesses' traffic studies underestimated the speed at which traffic travels through the area, she said, adding that the project was denied out of concern for the "safety of parishioners and the public."

"Exiting and entering that driveway would have been very, very hazardous," she said.

The commission unanimously rejected the application in September, citing traffic concerns as a primary reason. Two City Council members at the time pointed out that the site is a few blocks from so-called "Dead Man's Curve," an 0.8-mile-long stretch bordering on Beardsley Park named for numerous serious motor vehicle accidents that have occurred.

But a revised application, presented at November's P&Z meeting, proposed the elimination of walls and trees to improve the sight lines for an unobstructed 1,000 feet.

The vote then was 4-3 in favor of the plan, but it was a rejection by default because the proposal failed to win a two-thirds majority, or five of the seven P&Z members.

Jehovah's Witness congregations that would have met in the proposed Kingdom Halls worship in Spanish, French and American Sign Language. They now meet in Monroe and Orange. There's also a Kingdom Hall on West Avenue near State Street.

Gordon said despite the rejections, the Jehovah's Witnesses still plan to buy the second of two homes on the property. They own the first one.

The WTS teaches that they must hate some people. And what is the criterion?
"Falling away" from the organization? No.
Failing to heed the direction of the WTS while remaining an active, believing JW? No.
Performing horrific acts (murder, rape, child sexual abuse)? No.
All those things are not grounds to "hate" someone. What is? No longer believing that the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society is God's sole channel of communication to the planet. Yes, it is only when you stop supporting the authority of this religious hierarchy that they instruct others to "hate" you.

Test this out for yourselves. You will be amazed how fast hatred comes out of the hearts of such nice people when their masters in Brooklyn demand them to hate 'in a biblical sense' those who reject the fasle teachings of the Watchtower Society.

Fools. You have not found any truer faith. You are rejected and have no positive thing to contribute. If you were a true Christian, you'd offer the lost souls (JW) a way out, a better faith, but you have NOTHING TO OFFER in the way of faith. You are a greedy little fellows with small minds.

You are like the false nations that have surrounded God's people throughout history, you offer no truer faith, but only ridicule.
Do you see the pattern you are fitting?
Think.

There is only ONE FAITH!

(Ephesians 4:4-6) "One body there is, and one spirit, even as YOU were called in the one hope to which YOU were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all."

So you whio are so called enlightened should be SHARING this "ONE FAITH" with others but you do not. All you all do is ridicule. Like I said, you have NOTHING TO OFFER.
