Bridgeport may provide layoff list names

Mayor Bill Finch's administration is inching closer to releasing the names of the 90 city employees who face layoffs as a means to help balance the 2008-09 city budget he has proposed.

I am a professional that has worked for the city of bridgeport for 12 years. I got my layoff slip. It is disgraceful how the city has treated the good workers but life goes on. This Finch character has no clue on how he is handling our city or children. I do not regret working for this great city but i feel for the people that have to deal with this idiot. I will be leaving with my head high but feel for the people that have to keep dealing with this knuckle head. I will not approve of my name being in the paper and will sue. God Bless the city of Bridgeport!!

Bill Finch should review each city dept and those that have been a bump on the log for so many years should be fired and rehire people that want to work and produce to make the city a better place that includes even some of the administrative positions
who cares what your past is if you can do the job and your qualified you should be hired unfortunately over the years some of the people hired in the city of Bridgeport definately do not belong there it's a shame when you look around and see so many educated in our area but yet it seems to be the riff raff that all becomes city employees and elected officials and the qualified candidates are all pushed away. I wish Bill Finch the best hopefully he will clean up more loose baggage but if a person is truely a good employee and had done well for the city then I would say no they should not be let go the city should not get rid of the good employees only the lazy do nothing free loaders that have been getting a free paycheck for too long including anyone who is an elected official or ex official and works for the city.

1)This past March 4th Primary I challenged one of Finch's mayoral supporters.
2)I supported Rob Russo for Senate.
February 14,08.
3)I filed a complaint against Finch for Senate, wich included His Wife, other relatives and Campaign Treasures.
4)I critized Fabrizi, best friend of my current boss and Park director Charlie Carroll. Who by the way, made the decision to select me for Lay-off
5)I then swithced Republican, to make matters worst.

By January 08, I knew what my fate was going to be as far a being a City Employee. I served 6 years on the City Council with Ganim, Fabrizi and Finch. How could I not know them by now?

Finch should take a cut in pay. They should then give fat a-- Fabrizi a pink slip.(He will probably roll it up and sort some cocaine.) Then they should get on Norwood for buying all his new toys and get rid of the horses.
And last but not least get rid of the so called classy

Many dedicated people will be losing their jobs due to the fact that Bill Finch knows nothing regarding fiscal management and listens to a person who's been trying to get rid of the school clinics and the nurses. That falls to Tom Sherwood. This man is mean spirited and very very vindictive. I attended one of the budget meetings a few years ago and one courageous person said her peace and told him she didn't care if he laid her off. Within a week, she received her lay off notice. This is the type of person Bridgeport's idiot mayor listens to.
