Soft copper wire, which you twist to tighten. That holds all the pieces in almost perfect position, and then you make thick, wide fillets of epoxy inside the kayak, in the corners. I showed my husband the pics and he said he had to do many hours of studying, many hours of training and taking a lot of tests to become a pilot but he can't build a bird house.He respects anyone who can built things with their hands.He is a good painter though! I have to give him praise for that as I want him to paint the guest bedroom LOL

NOT impressive. I'm learning it as I go, and making many mistakes. If I had to do it again, it would come out a lot better!

I'm just following the directions that came with the kit, which aren't that good.
