"Schools that did not return ballots or returned incomplete ones: Fairfield Ludlowe, St. Joseph, Barlow, Lauralton Hall, Shelton, Staples, Greens Farms Academy, Amity, McMahon, Newtown, West Haven" Want to know the reason why so many schools didn't send in ballots? Because Maura Fletcher is one of the least worthy coaches around. She doesn't lose - or win - with dignity or respect. The only reason why her girls do so well under her is because they're all like her too. She doesn't know what it is to compete. The talent of the Newtown girls is immense, but it does not need to be shoved down opponent's mouths. All Maura Fletcher needs is some tact.

wow-
You sound like a sore loser and apparently don't understand the game of Lacrosse. Newtown is obviously doing something right.

Hey, I agree with you. Newtown should be winning. I'm glad they're winning. An SWC team putting up a very worthy opponent to the powerhouses of the FCIAC is a great thing. Who wants to see Darien and Wilton win it all ten times in a row. All I'm saying is that the team could learn a little sportsmanship...just like the rest of the teams they play. I just think that they need to learn more. It's high school sports...coaches should be teaching their kids how to be proper adults in the working world, not explaining how to trample over others.

I have had the opportunity to observe Coach Fletcher over the past three years, and have never seen her behave in the manner you describe. I have seen her inspire her players to work hard and give their all on the field. In the many games against FCIAC and SWC opponents I have observed, win or lose, they have always displayed class and skill on the field. There are indeed coaches within the FCIAC and SWC that behave poorly and and are poor role models for their players, But Coach Fletcher is not one of them.

Wow- I agree with "Long time Lax", you must be talking about someone else.Newtown has been great to watch! I think they are extremely respectful, and do their best to bring up the J.V. players when playing newer teams, and also when they are over powered by more experienced teams. Your post doesn't make any sense. Cheers to Coach Fletcher and Coach Feltch.
