More than 1,000 Homicides in Bridgeport since Early 1970's

(06/08/12) BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police announced today that about one-third of homicides in the city since the early 1970s remain unsolved.

Officials say that detectives and families are still looking for answers in more than 1,000 cases.

News 12 Connecticut just spoke with the family of murder victim Jermaine Reese, the victim in a Bridgeport homicide that went unsolved for six years.

Reese’s family says they finally have closure. They also say they’ll be at all of the suspects’ court appearances until justice is served.

Reese was shot to death while changing a tire on Reed Street. Police believe the slaying was in retaliation for a 1999 shooting.
