Someone had to have opened the door to the police car while he was inside returning the items to the store, that person should be arrested!!! NOT his fault!

Yea,,It's his fault 100%,,thats why you are supp to lock the freakin doors you dumbass.....you know the lil levers on the side of the door,,you push it,it locks,n no one can get in or OUT....if you leave the car running you should have an extra key so you can get back inside if the key wont come out of the ignition while its running,,I jus dnt see a cop not having an extra key to do that....Its his fault 100%,,that was preventable.....what a bunch of freakin briars,,,,this town has worthless cops, they have no clue to what they are doing!!

I feel for the police dept though. That would be very embarrassing for sure. I suppose the officer could not help it (I guess) and indeed someone violated the law when they opened the door and let the prisoner out of the car, but still, very embarrassing for the police department no matter who is at fault.

The bottom line is that the entire system is collapsing right before our very eyes.
Back in da day, police units had TWO officers assigned to a patrol unit, but with the Federal Gov't raping our tax dollars and giving them away to numurous non-producers,municipalities are lucky to cover the cost of fuel, let alone extras.
Had there been two officers assigned to that car, this would not have ever happened. That said,I am no fan of the modern po po,but that said, these guys, the good ones that is,have a helluva job, that can and does blow up in their faces in a split second, and ride alone with noone to their aid but themselves. They are human, but who would have ever thought something as trivial as this would have turned into what it has now.
This young lady will be in serious trouble for escape along with the original misdeamonr charge, and yes eventually they WILL capture her,it is only a matter of time.

there was two working, with the aide of a Stevenson officer there also.....don't blame it on the economy,,it's lack of poor leadership trickling down through the ranks.....simply no excuse for her escaping....the doors on the car should have been locked from the inside, and one of the officers should have stayed outside with the car....the only one to blame is the officer on duty....he should be terminated cause he's a personell issue with this and all those bad check issues, plus using tax payers money for his gas to drive the police car to almost Scottsboro every day and all over Scottsboro on his off days, and other places for personal use.....jus sayin...

Why would a stevenson officer be taking calls in bridgeport? It really don't matter if stevenson officer was there, but what needs to be done is fire the chief for being a drunk, and popping pills on the job. That is the problem with the BPD right now. It all starts with the leadership which IS the chief! What you don't want to tell is how the chief is running around in tennessee with a county investigator when he should have been in bridgeport doing his job helping his officer that were trying to break up a fight at the baseball field.

I just think they need to get rid of the bridgeport and stevenson police chiefs and things would work itself out. Kirk and Winters are just alike!

no she's not caught, and she climbed over the front seat cuz the cop left the window open between the front and back seats, then took her foot and opened the front door (cuz she was handcuffed from behind)and then ran. She was with Connie Parker.
