You can't get HIV from someone serving you food if you feel that way don't eat there.
Curious then maybe you should do a little research if you think this, think about it or better yet research it for yourself if someone has been infected and they have a sore or their sweat or saliva reaches your food and you eat this or sneeze around your food or drink and it enters your blood stream then yes you can be infected seriously read about it.And No me and my family eats at this establishment after we heard the news just important information that the public needs to know before they eat there would really hate for some innocent person or child get something and not know til it's too late.

HIV does not spread by sneezing, coughing, or anything along those measures. That's why it is called a sexually transmitted disease. Sharing of the needles, unprotected sex, blood transfusions, being a health care giver and sticking yourself with a dirty needle, are the main ways to get the virus. HIV has to have it's host to survive, meaning that if there happened to be a blood spill then the virus will die within minutes. Sitting on toilet seats, kissing, or other things like that you are more then likely not to contract the virus, unless there happens to be fresh blood on the seat and you have an open sore on your bottom and the blood mixes, then yeah, but if you see a toilet seat with blood on it and you sit on it then you may be a dumbass.....lol so eating at a restaurant, I am pretty sure you won't get HIV!

HIV dies when it hits air if you could contract it from eating somewhere the world would be wiped out. I guarantee you that you have ate somewhere where someone with HIV handled your food.

The fact that this nurse even made this post is extremely unethical and possibly illegal. A patient's records are CONFIDENTIAL!!!! A person's HIV status is not public record.

actually that info can be accessible from the health department cause the chain of command goes from the hospital or clinic to the health department then reported to the centers for disease control in Atlanta . At the point you reveal you have any kind of sexual disease you become a statistic . That paper probably didn't have names just like a bar graph or something showing the ages and what age group has the highest infection rate . Just saying even though the original poster could have went a diff way of saying things .

Whether or not this "Nurse" person is telling the truth or not...in reality "Aids/HIV" is on the rise, people need to become educated on this virus, how it is spread, taking precautions..the best protection is education...

I just saw a list at the Hospital where I work of the HIV+ people in the area. There are 236 people in Bridgeport who are HIV positive and 44 of them are adult men. There are a lot of young girls who are positive white and black. AIDs is spreading here.
If you are who you say then you are a very unethical nurse and should be fired

Think about what you have posted. IF..and that is a BIG IF....you could get HIV from a sneeze or sweat or spit...think of all the positive HIV people out there who cook for their family. Think of all the HIV poisitive people who are married or who date and kiss (share saliva). Think of all those out there who are HIV positive who sit in a doctor's office with a cough. OMG, we are exposed EVERYWHERE....RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

Nurse broke no laws or HIPPA privacy act violations because she gave no information that may lead to the revelation of who may be on that list if the list does exist. She/He said X number of people of which X are male. This does not give you any inclination of who they are so privacy act was not breached.

do you really think nurse had a good reason to look? Do you think hospitals just leave papers lying around w peoples names on them like that? No. iF nurse is really a nurse...ha. They had to be looking for some dirt to read. And if thats the case i hope i never have you as my nurse. 1-you need to WORK instead of looking thru "lists". 2- if there werent sick people in the world, you wouldnt have a job. So do your job, stop judging. 3-seems like a nurse would have compassion...isnt that part of what your job consists of?

and crap like this is a lot of the reason why people dont go to the dr. Maybe if people werent so judgemental, there would be more people going to the dr to find out they had hiv before they spread it...sitting here acting like these people are trash is awful. You probably know someone with hiv and dont even know it. When someone knows they have it and knowingly give it to someone else without telling them that is wrong. But sex isnt the only way, plenty of nurses and drs have contracted it thru their line of work. People need to stop treating hiv victims like they are scum. No one wants this to happen to them...dont you think waking up wondering how long they have isnt bad enough? Can we all just pray for them instead of spending so much negative energy bashing them and trying to name names? And pray for the NURSES who deal with them...may they get a good nurse that will treat them like the human being with feelings they are. You people should be ashamed. maybe if more nurses and drs and the general population would be more caring towards the aids community, it would slow down some...dont u think some people know theyve been in contact but are scared to get tested because of this type of stigma like the one you are creating? So they sit back not knowing...and spreading it. God loves us all, whether we are healthy or not. Why cant we all love each other?

yes u can transmitt hiv serving food in some cases for instance if some one cutt there finger and blood got into the foo that was being served to you ?? common sense tells u that! why do you think they don't let ppl in jail work in the kitchen if they are hiv + or have hepititis !? beacuse it can be spread!!

First, no hospital has a "list" of HIV positive patients. Each HIV positive test would be in individual medical records. The only place you might find a list might be the CDC where statistics would be on a list...no names. So, believe me, that list does not exist.
Second, it isn't so much HIV to worry about with food prep. I'd be more concerned with hepatitis or E-Coli. If a person who is preparing food follows basic rules, there wouldn't be a problem at all. Fortunately, HIV is very fragile outside the body and the virus will not survive for long extended periods.
Last, but not least, I'm not sure which jail you refer to that does not allow inmates to work in the kitchen fyi? Most jails do allow trustees to do food prep. Also, anyone who is jailed for 30 days or more is tested for HIV, syphillis, and TB. So, inmates working in the kitchen are safer than on the outside since you can't test every cook in every food industry. But, you can test every inmate who is there for at least 30 days. It's required by law.
