My thoughts exactly- February 19th, headline read: "Despite recession, East End summer rentals in demand". That is a really quick about face, without any mention of the previous article in the current one. Does anyone at this publication talk to each other, or even READ the paper regularly?? Can anyone really rely on anything they read in Newsday?
When the original article hit the street, the Obama team went crazy. They called Newsday management and asked for an instant retraction. They don't want the market to be good. Blame it all on Bush, he ruined your summer of 2009. Then, we'll fix the economy and you'll be back in 2010. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Maybe their just treating us all like little puppets.

Newsday is the 6th most distributed periodical in the states- I drive across Brooklyn every morning to get my copy.
That's a wasted trip IMHO.

It's a shocker though...I might be able to drive to Montauk from Riverhead on a Fri afternoon in less than 3 hours?

Greenporter,
Move to the south and become a broker. There are states where the the agents do the closing without a lawyer!

Its amazing that throughout this whole housing crisis the renter never gets mentioned UNTIL it affects those rent properties in the six figure range. Well maybe this is proof that the government shouldn't forget about renters when bailing out homeowners. Renters are clearly important to the economy (at least the Hamptons).

So why is even Obama ignoring renters?
