The residents of Bridge City have become a symbol of hope, faith and hard work to the people of southeast Texas. Hurricane Ike may have flooded their city and homes be he did not touch their pride and dignity. It's a shame that this small town and it's wonderful residents did not receive the same news coverage and federal help that New Orleans did. But then again these fine people did not stand on Cow Bayou Bridge screaming for a hand out.

bc started rebuilding immediately... instead of waiting for the government they helped themselves. unlike "chocolate city" bc's residents arent use to sponging off of the govenment where as the majority of the people in new orleans have been perfecting this art for generations!
