Donna and I have talked of our memories of Hope for years now...December 10 never passes without us thinking of her. I'm sure that is not going to change, except adding the death date to the birthdate. She's left behind parents, siblings and one daughter that I know of.
My regret for the rest of my life will be not doing enough to stop the downward spiral that I was witness to the exact moment it started...My heart is breaking..........

She was a hard scrabble person in high school. The downward spiral started before I met her. Sad ending.......

I knew Hope as a vibrant young lady, she had a wild streak in her, but who didn't back in the 80's. Hope, along with my good friend Lena and I, a lot of times could be found at my house with the kids hanging out. We would be playing yahtzee, cards or whatever. I left Texas just before things had really changed in Hope, I really wished I could have been there for her. May God be with her and her family. My heart is breaking too....Donna

I would like to wait for the detectives to do their jobs and I am confident that they will. When I tried to look up the other cases that the media had mentioned, I couldnt find if those people were killed first...If there is a connection here, then the police will be on it hard. I don't want to speculate about what happened because there are too many different scenarios and all of them bad. I do believe stabbing is a personal crime, to be close to someone like that. Hope was well on her way to developing her street-smarts years ago and by all means not stupid. This may turn out to be someone she knew. I just hope they catch him/her fast for the family's sake.

Hi Samantha, My name is Lena and I'm so very glad you're old enough to have those memories of your aunt. I'm sure I saw you as I did attend the service. When Donna and I met Hope, she was about 16. The first time that I actually saw her, she made such an impression that I had to like her...We were the Blonde, the Brunette and the Redhead of Mid-County for years...Hope's little sister was very young and her brother was just getting married, or at least not hanging out at the house much. I only have a couple of older pictures of Hope that I put on Ringo.com before she died...they're just over 20 years old and in a folder named Found Pics from the 80's...Here is the link to copy and paste...
http://www.ringo.com/profile/njunmaidn.html..... can email them to you if you can't reach the site...I'm at njunmaidn@yahoo.com...Take care, Samantha and give Helen my Love, My heart goes out to her.

Hope was married to my brother. She became my best friend for many of my growing up years. Then she and my brother both got mixed up in the wrong crowd. That happens to a lot of good people. I really and truly wish it hadn't happened to her for her sake and her daughter's. I hope that for everyone's sake that the people that did this to her are found and get what they also have coming to them, but rest assured that if they aren't found by us, our creator will give them what they deserve. R.I.P Hope, you will always have a place in my heart.

Katie B,
I knew your Mom, Hope since she was a baby. She came to my home many times with her parents and I still have the birth announcements she mailed when you and Shaina were born. She was very proud to be a mom. It is sad that she got involved in something so dreadful that it cost her her life. She was a beautiful young girl and you do look so much like she use to. She was my niece and you are my great niece so if you need anything, please call. Love you, Aunt N.

My daughter turned 14 yesterday. When I was in St. Mary's delivering her, Shaina was having her surgery. Hope and Richard were with us when Kaley was born. That will always be a special memory for me even though it was obviously their darkest period.
It was almost shocking for me to see Katlyn at the service. Hope was just a couple of years older than her when we met and they look so much alike. So many memories...we spent our best years together and I'm thankful to have those memories.

Crying tears of Joy now...I'm so glad they got him fast....

Port Arthur police have arrested a suspect in the February homicide of 41 year old Hope Willey.

Police say Willey's body was burned after she was killed. Her body was discovered Febraury 20 in a grassy area near Gulfway Drive and FM 366.

Police arrested 45 year old Carl James Williams at a home Thursday on 6th Street in Port Arthur. SWAT team officers searched the home after police got a warrant. Investigators say they had received information that evidence linking Williams to the homicide might be found in or around the home.

Williams was taken to the Port Arthur Police headquarters for questioning. Police say during the interview they discovered more evidence linking Williams to the murder.

Officers arrested Williams for murder. He's being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
