Bridge City School

My son is in a first grade Christmas Program this week and I have no problem finding or buying dress clothes for him for this (because the school sent home a note saying no jeans, flip flops, tennis shoes...dress clothes only) That's fine, but today they sent home a note saying this dress attire is expected for family members attending as well. Money is tight this time of year and for people that wear jeans, tennis shoes and t-shirts year round it is just too darn expensive to go buy a new wardrobe for the whole family to attend a program that will last less than an hour. Why doesn't the school take into consideration that some people have no choice but to wear casual clothes, some have not completely recovered from the hurricane.

That is very sad. I can see dressing the kid up but that is ridiculous for them to be so picky about the crowd. You know what? I would just wear a nice pair of jeans, shirt, shoes of your choice and enjoy the performance. Everything is all about fashion these days when the focus should be more on spending time with the kids. I feel for you hon.

Wear what you and your family have and enjoy the performance. It's not fair that you have to stress over this matter instead of being excited about the performance.
