I found this at Wysh.Fm radio local news.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the circumstances that led to a Wednesday night shooting in the New River area that left one man dead. Sheriff Paul White says that deputies were called to a home in the 5600 block of New River Highway shortly before 8 pm Wednesday night on a report of a shooting and when they arrived, deputies found 46-year-old Bobby Allen Turpin of New River Highway suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. The suspect in the shooting was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies on an outstanding Contempt of Court warrant out of Claiborne County. He has been identified as 35-year-old Larry Joshua Ramsey, a neighbor of Turpin’s, and is currently being held at the Anderson County Jail. Charges related to the shooting will be filed later today and when they are, we will let you know about it. No further information is being released by the Sheriff’s Office as the investigation is continuing.

Its a awful thing that has happened to this man , not to mention the heartache his kids and family are going through. Ya he may have been hard to deal with for his family and others, But his family tried to see the good and never the less they loved him. This man was a not only a son, a brother, and a father and they may have at some point wished he could've done things different. I suppose now they only are wishing for him to still be here for the good or the bad when you lose a loved one it hurts and no matter how the person lived their life I'm sure they would give it all to see them at least one more time. So for those that weren't fond of Allen at least please give respect to his kids and his family. Their heartbroken over his tragic death and if they happened to login in it would really crush them to hear people saying negective thing about the daddy. To those of his friends and family please know that everyone is in owr thoughts and prayers and may GOD give peace and comfort you all.

Listen people its not up to us to judge anyone. Allen may have lived a troubled life but noone is perfect and its not appropriate to down a dead man. Im sure that we all have made decisions we regret but i bet your family wouldnt appreciate the disrespect. Everyone has a heart some may not act like it but nobody deserves to be talked about when their dead. Whoever said Allen was am p.o.s. is a sorry p.o.s.themselves. When you die i hope your family has to hear you disrespected like that. He does have children that are grieving deeply and do not need this in their heads. Think about what you say before hurting people who are going through a very rough time.

Looks like the good people on topix are starting to out number the bad ones. Its a shame a person would do this to someones family when they are probably hurting the most. And it is also a shame for those negative comments to ruin the only source of news our community has.

Sorry outdoorsman that comment was not directed at you. I meant there was only one negative comment and there were more from good people who know how hurtful words written on the internet can be to others.
