There has been a porn shop in Brice long long time ago.
They talked about Meijers close to Brice, south of I70-the messed up ramp where people just like to be confused getting into the other lane.

You must talk about the other side of town. I think Reynoldsburg itself is not at all a "dump", but more innovative in infrastructure than other "little" suburbs of Columbus. Just take a close look when you go down to Reynoldsburg, they put electric and telecommunication wiring all underground. Thumbs up for them!

Giant Eagle and Kroger are closer. I can walk to either. That makes me "thrifty".
So paying more makes you thrifty. Brilliant.

Boycott Walmart at all costs...Otherwise, eventually, Walmart will be our only choice.

I am interested to see this new store and the food choices and prices. I look at grocery shopping as a part-time job. The time I put into comparing ads and using coupons takes time, but the money saved for the time spent is well worth it. Giant Eagle is my grocer of choice because unlike Kroger or Meijers when Giant Eagle has an item in their ad that reads 'Buy One Get One Free', you can buy only one item and get the item at half off. This is not the case at Kroger or Meijers. There you must buy two items to see the discount.

I must say I get a kick out of watching people at the Kroger 10 for 10 sale and hearing them say, but I can't use 10 loaves of bread!!!

Also if you are reading this and do use coupons remember to buy your coupons on Ebay. Giant Eagle will double a maximum of four like coupons per day, unlike Meijer who will only double two like coupons.'Buy it Now' coupons on Ebay are the best deal, where you can normally buy 20 coupons for $1.00

I do not understand how someone could hand out the "lemon" and "clueless" rankings for this post. Whoever Andy et all is -- is correct. The Dispatch reporter needs to resurvey the intersection!
The reporter clearly stated the Big Bear was on the North/East corner of Brice & Livingston.( It was NEAR the n/e corner on the northside of E.Livingston Av., approx. 50 yds., north of the curb of the east/west street & approx. 100 yds. east of S. Brice Rd.)

Giant Eagle has hamburger buns for $1.00 for a package of 8. I always buy these.
There may be a problem: they may only sell hamburgers in a bakers dozen, that's why you may have to buy 104 hamburgers and also 104 buns to make it match.

Gar142, you're a day late and a dollar short. The first online version of this story CLEARLY STATED this site was located on the SOUTHEAST corner of B&L. That would be the old Tarpy's store (where I used to work), and please read post #2 of this thread. Thank you for your input!

Walking 2 miles round trip for better quality food versus driving 10 for lower quality but cheaper food? Yes, thrifty.

How much are you able to carry if you walk a mile home?

50 pound in about 20 min
100 pounds in about 40 min
150 pounds in about 1 hour
200 pounds in about 2 hours

I wouldn't buy potatoes and cat litter for two months at once when walking.

I don't know who's cheaper and who isn't, but I really like Meijer. Lately, I've been shopping more at Giant Eagle. Aldi has a nice niche, but Columbus has never really embraced discount grocers. I can think of two or three food warehouses that failed before. Ontario used to have one, and so did Gold Circle after Fazio's left town. Good food at a fair price is the winning combination here, that's why Big Bear was always so successful.

Food for 2 for a week including milk. Fruit, vegetables, cleaning supplies, cereal, meats, baking stuff like flour. All the stuff needed to put food on the table for a week. It's not a problem even in weather like this.

Wow, you are one of those who still know how to walk!
Most of us are still waiting for the grocery-drive-thru to come.

Just kidding. Wish I could do it again sometimes. Getting old and sicker.

I hope they sell some organic stuff(meijer had their Meijerorganics brands of just about everything)-- The pesticides are killers at any cost. And the antibiotics and HORMONES in the meats and dairy, at Kroger, WalMart, Aldi, Sav-a-Lot or any grocers, are responsible for many health issues, especially in children, as well as the cause for hormonal imbalances that cause early puberty AND lots of social and emotional problems. Organics foods are the way to go. Spend a little more money to get the deadly chemicals out of food as much as possible.
