Maggie,
You might consider using that Yale education to read the bible rather than listening to what the Christian right's flavor of the month is. Being gay isn't a choice and it isn't fun. But they have all the love, feelings, and intellect that straight people have and if you're uncomfortable giving someone the right to have the government merely record a marriage record you'd have been better off living in the 1800's where you could purchase some slaves. I find it amusing that people like Maggie will be judged by God one day and find themselves on the wrong end of this issue. Please wear short sleeves, it will be warm where you're headed. |

1 "I find it amusing that people like Maggie will be judged by God one day and find themselves on the wrong end of this issue. Please wear short sleeves, it will be warm where you're headed. " Is equally as ignorant as Maggie's stance. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. No one on this planet truly knows what is right and what is wrong. There can even be an argument made for the absence of both. The most unholy, unamerican thing that has been going on in America since its inception is moral terrorism. Where one group threatens the other with damnation over there personal beliefs. Salem Witch Trials, the drug war, LA riots all result from intolerance to others beliefs. I find the most disturbing thing about Gay Marriage to be the fact that so many people are obsessed over a topic that will literally have no impact over their daily lives. Children are being murdered all over Africa, the AIDs virus is spreading, drug use is skyrocketing and the government cannot stop it. With all this going on what is one of the worlds most pressing planetary issues? Whether two guys can stick in each others butt and make it official. It is stupid. If the gay community spent the time they spent trying to get their preferred --fetish--- sanctioned on something that is important such as feeding the hungry, building schools, world peace, curing AIDs (something that impacts them heavily) the world would be much better. The same can be said for straight (Dr. Alfred Kinsey discovered 46% of men in US are bisexual to some extent) people who spend all their time and money fighting with gays. Basically because of some religious hang up that should have been overcome 50 years ago. If you love is that strong then you shouldn't need a piece of paper to validate it. Everyone else should mind their own business and stop fearing what they choose not to understand. |

Being gay... notice I said 'being' not choosing.....is alot more than just butt sex... way more....and you're a turd for expressing it as just that.
And, if 'having a piece of paper to validate it' is unimportant, then why do 'breeders' want a marriage license? |

Equal treatment under the law is important. Civil rights are important. Justice is important. |
