Okay, since you feel so strongly about that matter, perhaps you'll please describe how it is that the government has any say at all about what goes on in a place of worship?

And ~why~ would you wouldn't deign to think it proper for the church make its own decisions in the matter?

Dear Fellow Citizen,

On a recent news broadcast, Rep. Dan Ipsa (New Hampshire) mentioned in passing "the Holt bill that's been folded into the stimulus package."

The Holt bill is: H.R. 45: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd...

This is full-fledged gun control!!!!!!

The spending bill is bad enough - this addition is DANGEROUS!!!!

PLEASE let everyone (congress, news outlets, friends, neighbors) know what the liberals are sneaking into this stimulus bill - this has nothing to do with jobs.

Paste this into your e-mail and forward this to everone you know - this needs to go viral before it gets passed.

John

My my..referring to christian crusades isnt nice. They murdered, raped and stole land and property in the name of their christian God. This was bad, very bad. They were not fighting anything but their internal evil and greed and perversity. The brutality still affects so many fron the crimes they committed so many years ago. To blame history or another religion for our own personnal weakness is the essence of weakness. I for one dont need four walls and a roof to pray to my deity. My faith I live 24/7 not just a few hours , one day a week. My faith makes peace with other faiths and cultures. I seek understanding and tolerance not hate and aggression. Even though my faith has suffered under the hatred of many for centuries I feel no need to revenge. My best friend is Muslim and I have attended her religious services on numerous occassion and I have never seen any guns. This is America. Leave the hate overseas and welcome people with open arms as friends and neighbors. In the end, your hate will destroy you.
Today is St Valentines day.. one of the many holidays taken by christians in a method to irradicate pagans and their faith and culture.

Today is St Valentines day. Originally a pagan holiday called Lupercalia. As usual the christinas stole the pagan holiday and renamed it for their purpose of irradicating pagans and their faith and culture. Lupercalia is a holiday to purify the villages of evil spirits and to allow health and fertiltiy to flourish. Additional historical variations have included other Gods nd Goddess activity.

Today is a day for putting your life in order and planning for the future. Thinking about spring crops and making plans for family.

YOU NEVER GOT BACK! So, let's try it again:
.
Okay, since you feel so strongly about that matter, perhaps you'll please describe how it is that the government has any say at all about what goes on in a place of worship?
.
And ~why~ would you wouldn't deign to think it proper for the church make its own decisions in the matter?

You'll be getting back on those issues, won't you?

Or will you ...?

Your questions r silly and represent your bigotry and ignornace.

Worship isnt about the human realm its about the beginning and end of all living thins. Guns on Earth do not affect of our souls and eternal life. Therefore why would any church of any faith need guns present. I do believe each family and home should be allowed to bear arms.

As for religious areas making their own decisions ...why dont u locate religious leaders and ask them to blog here.

Pagan belief is the oldest faith on this planet.

Pray tell: Precisely ~how~ would any of that be silly, bigoted or ignorant?

You'll be getting back on that, won't you?
mary summers wrote:

That may well be, but one might 'worship' just anywhere.

Now what?
mary summers wrote:

If that is your belief, then why your vituperation over them?
mary summers wrote:

You would have everyone be a victim in-waiting, and not able to defend themselves?
mary summers wrote:

But not while they worship?

You're the one punching all the buttons ... Why don't you?

You have no certifiable proof of such a contention. In fact, no one does.

Now, let's try this again:

Because you silly twit, not every church can afford an armed security officer.

Never have I been so quoted before in totality. Perhaps its an honor, perhaps not.

I have never attended any religious service that had armed guards or security.

Nor do I feel I need to be armed to ask my deity to guide me in this less than perfect world full of less than tolerant people.

And Highlands the only issues are within your mind.

Very old saying: In order to understand a problem, one must take it apart and analyze each part in order to fully comprehend the whole.

Ergo, you toss me a problem, and I evaluate each nuance: One does ~not~ eat a steak whole.
mary summers wrote:

That is largely irrelevant.

How would you know if ~anyone~ thereat had been carrying a firearm if you were not aware priorly?

And it might interest you to know, that in the highlands of old Scotland, the men carried their swords, dirks, knives and targs with them into the services.

They weren't fools back then, knowing FULL WELL that had they gone unarmed to that place of worship, their enemies would have taken full advantage of the fact of knowing them to be unarmed.

It seems that modern men and women have afforded themselves the degree of luxury referred to as 'blatant disregard for one's own life' and thence commence to lambast yet others for not following suit.

If Jim Jones —of Jonestown fame— were to have offered >YOU< a cup of that purple kook aid, would you have proceeded to imbibe?

If not, then how say you that me speaking out against your obvious willful neglect regarding your own life, is somehow disconnected from reality?

The reality is just this — Four things:
.
[1] No man-made law has =EVER= stopped anything from happening.
.
[2] Safety is a FRAME OF MIND and NOT a condition of existence.
.
[3] You can =NEVER= be safe from anyone or anything, no matter what you do, how, when or where you do it, or with whom you might do it. YOU CAN NEVER BE SAFE.
.
[4] We live in a violent universe, and all around us —including within ourselves— violence is the order of the day. PREPARE FOR IT.

And Highlands the only issues are within your mind.
The only issue I have is that >YOU< are —without a doubt— self-deceiving, and I pray that you don't infect the minds of yet others with your utter lack of respect for the gift you have been given: Your own life.

Why?

Would your opinion be based upon the conclusion that your arguments have been found wanting?

In virtually every case, I've presented a logical and cogent argument to counter every one of your propositions.

King James Bible

Luke 22:26
Then said He (Jesus) unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
