Nashville Doctor Arrested On Rape Charge

A Madison-based psychiatrist is facing a rape charge after he was arrested on Thursday.

Excuse me but, there is a BIG difference between indecent exposure and rape yet, I bet the state (as it has in mant cases) will simply take her word for it and seek to destroy this man's life. Fake vitims are the real and worst enemies of real victims.

What I posted in the other thread regarding this topic bears repeating: "The American Medical Association Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs states categorically that ‘sexual contact that occurs concurrent with the physician-patient relationship constitutes sexual misconduct.’(Opinion 8.14). In an article in JAMA announcing the policy, the Council rejected the position that sexual relationships should be permitted with the patient's consent on the ground that "the relative position of the patient within the professional relationship is such that it is difficult for the patient to give meaningful consent to such behavior."

Note: a physician (and a psychiatrist is a medical doctor) has a PROFESSIONAL relationship with his patient. It is NOT the same as a personal relationship. He is NOT free to engage in lewd behavior.(And for those who want to know,“lewd” behavior is behavior that is regarded by another as indecent or offensive. It is a word often used in connection with indecent exposure.) Such behavior can result in the loss of a medical license. Any professional who has been practicing as many years as he has been is certain to be aware of this.

Another article on the same psychiatrist says, "Police said Castellani admitted to having sexual contact with the victim, along with several others." This suggests the man DID engage in sexual misconduct which would certainly corroborate the woman’s story.

All of this means that if this man’s reputation is tarnished, and his career destroyed, and subsequently, his life ruined, it is because of his actions.

Thank you! because SOMEONE that has not had MENTAL PROBLEMS then they do not understand that this PERSON DR SAM CASTELLANI (psychiatrist) IS WRONG AS HELL. THIS IS A PERSON THAT SOMEONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST TO HELP HEAL NOT TAKE AWAY FROM A PERSON LIFE THAT IS ALREADY IN PAIN. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IS HE STILL ALLOWED TO SEE ANYONE. there is no way this doctor did this. he has always been extremely appropriate and professional in all of my visits. every time i go into the office-monthly--there is usually some one there claiming to have "lost" their meds or some one "stole" them or they need their medicine early for some reason. he is a psychiatrist~~~crazy people see him~~~~i am one of his patients, a little crazy, but not crazy enough to beleive what this woman is saying he did.

Board to weigh more charges against medical examiner
A three-member panel from the state Board of Medical Examiners has so far substantiated 18 violations stemming from the long-running inquiry into the practice of Dr. Charles Harlan, a pathologist who spent three decades performing throughout Tennessee.
Harlan was once medical examiner for Davidson County and chief medical examiner for the state, but now he faces the possibility of civil fines and the revocation of his doctor's license. The panel resumes its open deliberations today and could rule during the session on whether Harlan deserves any sanctions.
The state Department of Health has filed charges in 20 -related incidents, including allegations of botched , sloppy record-keeping, wrong diagnoses and callous behavior to families.
