A man was struck and killed in a hit and run crash on Interstate 40 overnight, and police have a suspect in custody Friday morning.

Such a sad story. I hate that the girl had to watch her daddy get killed. Just awful. i hope this woman rots in a prison cell for a long time. Just left that man on the side of the road. What a tragedy

I saw the video this morning. She didn't look at all remorseful so I am thinking she may not have even known what she did at that point or she was so drunk she just still so didn't care! Let this be a lesson to people that think it is ok to drink to the point that you don't remember things and you vomit on yourself and pass out in a car that it isn't ok to drive home!

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to us his death to teach others about the dangers of drinking and driving when all has settled down. Im sure he was a great man and i am sorry for all his friends and family that won't get to be with him any longer.

A great friend, a good husband, a good father has been taken by a selfish, self centered, drunk who didn't stop. I hope she gets life in prison. I hope she has to live with what she has done to his family and friends for the rest of her life. Death would be too good for her. My prayers go out to Eddie's family, his "brothers", and his friends ... but especially to his wife and daughter. I will miss you my brother! Godspeed!!

Mornin' hun!! I don't have much faith that the justice system will sentence her accordingly. I think most drunk driving cases don't have harsh enough penalties...maybe because so many folks used to drink and drive and lawmakers didn't want to be sentenced harshly or maybe because the laws take into account that the alcohol interferes with good judgment. Regardless, the laws need to be upgraded: if you decide to drink, you're responsible NOW for what you might do later. A life is a life period! No excuses for chosen activities.

I am writing in from California. DUI drivers kill about 17,000 people a year. This is a problem that all Americans will deal with everyday until these idiots stop drinking and driving. There is no excuse for this crime and I hope this women's soul will rot and burn in HELL. I lost a friend to a DUI driver in 2005 and as you can see, I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. I work in LE and I am asking all of you who may read this article and/or comments: Please do not drink and drive! God bless! Deuce

This is a terrible thing that happened to a good man. Unfortunatly for me we were no longer close and I feel terible for that now. WTF is all I can say at this point. I am shocked and at a loss. The world now has lost a good soul.

Unfortunately that is true. a man named Bob Hyndman in Mt. Juliet killed my friend Richard 5 years ago. He never served a day in jail. He was 3 times the legal limit and had an open container in the car and didn't get 1 day. That's politics for you. This girl will probably get off too or serve very little time. I surely hope not. I hope she spends a lot of time in jail but she most likely won't.

I agree this is unfortunate. I hate the fact that occurences such as these happen all the time and still not enough is done.

Eddie was a great daddy, husband, grandpa, brother,uncle,son,worker,and FRIEND! My heart is hurting for the loss of Eddie. Ive known him for about 13 years and I can rememeber when he found out I was pregnant and said congrats. All i could do was cry because i wasnt married yet and was too young.lol. He just hold me and tell me it will be ok. He loved my ex and I daughter so much. He never treated her different. Im sooo sorry that his daughter had to see her daddy get hit and killed. She will be in serious need of family and friends to help her through this. For the drunk i believe in eye for an eye. You deserve life in prison for what u have done. Eddie you will be missed deeply and dont worry about the wife and kids. They will be taken care of. Ride that HD Killer and we will meet up with u soon in heaven. RIP Killer!

My heart,Prayers and thoughts go out to Eddie's Family. Eddie was the type of man that gave up his vacation days along with many others three years ago to my dad when my mother was in the hospital,so my dad could be with her in the last days we had with her. The road to healing never ends you just learn to cope. Hold each other tight the days will be rough. He rode up to heaven way to soon.

While I agree that justice should be given, I do not think that you have the right to judge where her soul should rot...I think that God will get to do that, hopefully she will repent before her death and God will forgive her of her sins and she will not have to rot in Hell. Justice should be served, but lets let God take care of her soul.
