well the people their are pretty shallow , superficial, snobby, materialistic, hypocrites, who are miserable , and find their two enjoyments in life by acting superior to people who dont drive SUVS and didnt get a "educational degree" and are not living in their McMansionville neighborhoods and by calling the police on anybody they suspect does not live in their elite communities or are one of their mexican slaves, but other then that the people there are pitiable.
p.s. ignore me, i am only jealous of them.

Hi, I have my 4 year old son in a 2 day a week program at Forest Hills Baptist Church. They offer a one and two day option for up to 4 and two and a half days for older 4's and younger 5's. They do religious based teachings-prayer's before all meals, etc. They also have a music teacher. I've been very happy with there program and all there teachers. They are currently accepting applications for next fall. Sorry, I don't currently have there ph number but they have a website, just google Forest Hills Baptist Church in TN. I know there two day a week program is currently $146 a month and I expect a couple dollar increase by next fall. They are actually in a more affluent section of Southern Davidson county. I take backroads from my location in Brentwood and it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to get there.
You really can't go wrong anywhere in Williamson County. All the public schools rank high in test scores. Brentwood is known overall for having the best. Property values have been increasing quickly and with the announcment of Nissan moving to the area the values just keep climbing. Brentwood itself is almost completely built out so there is very limited new construction. But there is a one house one acre building code for the Brentwood area. As you move further south along I-65 there is much more new development but with much smaller lot sizes. And I think Franklin just put back into place a restriction on building garages facing out. I have a good friend who lives in Spring Hill and she has been pretty happy with the schools in that area and there has been tremendous growth in that there in the last couple of years. I believe the Springhill Target opened there last spring. You definitly want to stay out of the Columbia side of Spring Hill. There school system is definitly not as good. Though I would not be suprised to see improvements with the general overflow that is happening.
I have lived in Brentwood about a year though I moved from a nice area of Nashville to this location due to needing more space for a growing family. My son will be starting elementary school here in the fall. I love the area and am close to everything. There are lots of options depending on what you are looking for in a home from historic to new. We almost purchased a home from the Jones Company. They build some very nice homes and there is a beautiful subdivion that they have been building in along with a few other very reputable builders right in the Cool Springs area. I will say that traffic right at Cool Springs can get congested but they are currently construction a new on off ramp to I-65 in the area just south of the mall. I expect it will help some. I think it will be off of Libery Pike. You may want to check out a map. I know it's going to feed out close to that subdivion I was speaking of (can't think of the name right now, someone may want to list it if they know. Anyway, sorry to babble, hope this helps with some general information. You might want to try looking up Jones Company in TN if you are interested in some new construction in the area. Ah, just thought of the subdivion name. McKay's Mill. Anyway, hope that helps.
Just found this thread....Anyone have any info/suggestions on childcare in Spring Hill. We are moving there in about 1 month (from KY) I have a 3yr old and 17 month old and work part time. We've been living in franklin in temp housing and I've been using Nannies of Green Hills, I've been happy but the fees almost make it not worth it for me to work!! I don't know much about daycares, there doesn't seem to be much in the area. In KY I had a stay at home mom who watched my kids on the days I worked and it was ideal, but I haven't met many people here yet, so that seems an unlikely option. Any ideas??? Thanks!

We have been in brentwood 9 months, also from a job transfer. I have children in HS and middle school. If you are not white the transition is a little harder because there are not alot of minorities here. But I almost think the transition is harder if you do not have alot of money and you move to Brentwood. The expectation is that everyone who lives here is rich and can and will spend all kinds of money on their children. But even lovely Brentwood has different sides of the 65 so be sure to choose carefully. I have met many nice, wonderful down to earth people here BUT also have been ignored and looked at differently because I am not white BUT that is the way of the world and there are many lessons for our children in that kind of behavior.

CHOOSE your builder carefully, if you have not already. TN has a different standard and time table for building homes. Go with a well known builder or a builder who will give you a list of homes in the area they have built. CONTACT some of those folks and see if the builder came back and finished the punch list, honored their warranty, etc. UNFORTUNATELY with the housing growth many BAD builders came in to make a quick buck and left unsuspecting homeowners to pay the cost. You are not protected by your warranty without litigation so CHOOSE carefully.

Fortunatlely, there is an over abundance of homes on the market so you can strike a great deal now that all the Nissan/Purina hubbub is gone.

When did you relocate from Los Angeles? Was it easy to adjust. We are fed up with life and schools here in CALIFORNIA but at the same time really scared of moving to a new state with 4 children (2, 8 and 12 years old twins)

You can go to my company website at www.1strealtycenter.com and click schools to see websites for several schools in the area too. Please contact me if I can be of futher help. There definitely seems to be an L.A.- Nashville connection going on. We relocated from the L.A. area in 1989, to the Dallas/FW area, and then to Brentwood in 1996. I would definitely advise moving to Williamson County; however, I can't provide much help on the public schools as our children all attended a private school - although I've only heard good things about the Williamson County public schools. If interested in a faith-based program for pre-school through high school, check out http://www.lighthouseministries.org/ it is located in nearby Antioch, TN, but if you live in the southeast area of Brentwood, then you are still close enough to school, work (in most cases), and shopping in Cool Springs.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck in the Thompson's Station/Spring Hill area. It is GROWING tremendously. Just make sure you stay on the Williamson county side of Spring Hill as the city falls into 2 counties. The Williamson county side has better schools.
Is Maury County not a good choice? Just curious, we don't have children.

Brentwood is a beautiful place. Crime, if any, is so low, it is virtually non exsistent there (unlike nashville [ugh!]. The differences are like comparing gold to trash.

Your children are the perfect age for a move. Franklin and Brentwood are beautiful places to live. I see Brea from your name and to me thats not LA. Brea is so pretty and friendly I think much like Franklin. The schools in both areas are really good. I do not hear great things about Independence HS but that is in Springhill and mostly because of the current admin. which would change by the time your kids HS.

Maury County is a great place to live. Right now you can get a lot of house for the money. Some people prefer Williamson County because of the schools but the Maury County portion of Spring Hill is beautiful, safe and convienient as well. I have helped many people make a move from California to Tennessee, and not everyone who moves is a "coporate" relocation; many are discretionary and want a change of pace and scenery.

My real estate firm, Real Estate, a la Carte, offers a BUYER'S REBATE PROGRAM, so if you are seriously interested, and would like to receive some properties via email and would like to see how our program keeps more money in your pocket, check out web site, http://realcarte.com

By the way, my family and I live in Brentwood, and not everyone is rich or a snob. This is a much-sought area with a high per capita income and little crime, but, if I may be philosophical, life is more what you personally make it than your surroundings.

Hey, actually we are just moving from Brentwood, TN but we are devastated... we absolutely love TN. We have lived all over the globe, and by far this has been the best place! It is so beautiful with different areas: there is the wide, open country and the traffic packed city.... Best wishes

I don't know why I keep forgetting Belle Meade and Green Hills. Maybe it's because I don't associate them with nashville. I have to admit ,I consider them seperate from nashville ( nashville isn't worthy to claim either of these two places as part of itself imho)
