The city is doing nothing at all to correct the problem. Its a sad time to call Livermore home.

This is a email that was sent to the city.
The City's page says this "The Golf Division is responsible for the management of contracts for the operation and maintenance of the Las Positas Golf Course, an 18 hole, 6725 yard championship course and oversee the lease of the Springtown Municipal Golf course". Now if you are paid to do this job please do it. I am sick of talking to Judy as she is clueless. This email is about the pond in springtown. It is the pond on Bluebell. It looks like hell. The water level is very low and very dirty the trash cans are always full the weeds have taken over the little grass that is there the fountain has not been on in over a year and Judy wants to put the blame on everyone but herself. |

This was my response to Dan
Dan, thank you for the email. I do remember when they took over the golf course. My problem is with everyone of you pepole that work for the city is acting as if its not your responsibility. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. It even says it on your web page that you oversee the lease of the Springtown Municipal Golf course. It does not say you will be cutting the grass but it does say it is your job to see that it gets cut. I am very upset that such an important part of Livermore is being trashed. I feel the city should redo that contract. You don't have to be rocket scientist to know that the pond and the area around the pound is not at all used by any golfers. Hell, they cant even see it or walk around it because there is a fence from the Springtown office to the Library. I do understand how the water level is part of the other pond but that is it. I think the city should be responsible for the fountain that has not worked in 2 dam years and the same thing with the TRASH CANS next to the bus stop and at the pond. The area around the pond has never had a golfer step foot on that land. It is used by the people of Livermore. There is no other place around Livermore or Pleasanton where we can take our kids and friends to interact with wild life like we can do at that pond. One last thing. I am going to give you a link from Google map street view. This will give you a look at how this pond is used. http://maps.google.com/maps... and here is another photo http://maps.google.com/maps... |

More important things to spend the money on then the pond.
|
|
There is always more important things to spend money on. That is not the problem. The problem is with the people that we pay to do a job are not doing the job we pay them for. So is that the more important things we need to spend money on? We need real people that care about Livermore working for Livermore. Lets just turn off all the fountains in this town lets turn off all the water to all the landscape in this town. Hell lets close all the ball parks because Michael thinks we have more important things to spend money on. |

Hate to break the news to you brah, but the Springtown duck pond looked like shit in 1970. That thing has always been an eyesore.

I have lived in Springtown for 19 years and I use to love walking to that pond with my Daughter.

Linda,
If they drained that duck pond they'd probably find bodies in there. |

Here we go again, The pond is very very low again. What is so fucking hard about putting some water in the dam thing!!! WTF and all the grass is 95 % DEAD. Why? because some dumb ass worker does not know how to do something we all learned in grimmer school. Watering the lawn. Now if you are smart you would stay 2 blocks from the water in that pound. IT WILL KILL YOU now I will try something new I will fill a animal cruelty report with the city and county today along with the health department

Grammar and pond not grimmer and pound
|
|

Is it part of anyone's job description to clean it? And if it isn't, do you propose they should pay the regular couple of thousand it would take to hire a company to do maintenance?
I assure you that pond maintenance is much more than just throwing a few gallons of water in every once in awhile. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Ok True, it looks like you have commented on something that is over your head. I am fed up with the guy at the golf course. He has my number and he has never called me. I have offered my time to help with the pond. He keeps telling Dan McIntyre that he has tried to call me. All BS. When it comes down to it Dan is 100% responsible. He is the only one that can make things happen and he is clueless on what his job is. The grass is 100% DEAD THE pond IS DIRTY AS HELL AND VERY LOW. I think the city of livermore should have to let all the grass die in this going to hell town. I pay my tax like the next guy so what is so fucking hard about keeping it full like they have been doing for 44 years |

So you think your water tax increase supports Livermore spending and using more water? Ok. |
tlist, I am not going to fall for that dumb name you use. You are totally clueless who said anything about a water tax? I am just wondering why most of the city has green grass but they let all the grass die at the pond. Who pays for all that green grass around town? I wonder if any one that works in the mayors office has ever drove over 580 into springtown. Maybe the idiots that run this town should have to drive around 1 day a week so that they can get a understanding of Livermore. This land is public land and the city of livermore owns it. Maybe we need to move that dumb ass light from the fire station and hang it from the bus stop next to the pond, |

I've contacted the guy that runs the landscape for the golf course and he says there's a broken valve and it cost 10K to fix and the city won't pay for it. I say they just made a bundle on the outlets already and they need to put some money in Springtown. I'm sick of them acting like we're the step child. Judy told this guy to just do the best he can. I say we demand they fix the valve and replace the lawn and keep the pond full. They want it to look like crap because they want to put low housing in there. Everyone should flood the mayors email and voice mail demanding it be cleaned up.
|

|
First off, the city is not going to make money on the outlets for awhile, it cost a fourtune to put in all that infrastructure. Second, there are more issues then the dumb pond. It would only take a few neighbors to come up with that money and fix it or work together and fix it. Quit complaining and do somthing about it. Springtown is the step child!!!! lol
