<quoted text>Well if the light had been repaired there would atleast have been a chance for them not to have run the light or been lucky and caught the green no!! i'm not looking for a lawsuit against the city but i'm personally pissed that this could have been a contributer to the death of a girl whose life had not yet been lived to it's due time.
I totally understand where you're coming from. Who knows what would've happened. Lights now working, especially in a major intersection, can be dangerous. No matter what this is such a tragedy for several young people.

unless you yourself have been in a life or death situation, do not judge. There was no right or wrong answer. Sadly, I have been in this situation and have had formal training on what to do. When a life is layed in front of you, you react. Often at times the first response is to drive them to help first. And often it is the correct response, as many times you are faster than waiting for help to arrive, and sometimes not. There was no right or wrong answer that night. Just a young lady that tried so very hard to save a life. Yes sadly another was lost. Also who is to say if 15 is too young to be out after midnight. Parents have the right to make their own rules. That is called freedom. Who is to say the parents were not allowing her to go to a sleepover or somewhere planned, and the kids changed plans? Please, how many of you were the perfect teen growing up? I mean PERFECT? This is not the time to point fingers. A life was lost. Who are we to say what was right or wrong. It seems everytime I log in to this site, everyone is pointing fingers and spreading rumors not facts. Is thiks site not to get info, facts and discuss things? More like bashing of what I have seen so many times.

First my heart goes out to everyone involved in this tragedy. No child should leave this earth at such a young age. I agree with the comment about teaching kids to call 911, it would have all been avoided. I hope the other innocent victims (the mother and daughter that hit the pick up) are recovering and will heal from this. Being a parent of an older teen I know the things they try to pull. I'm sure Ashley's parents didn't know where she was. All the kids say they are staying at one house then go to another.(I was a pretty good kid but I remember trying to pull the wool over my folks eyes too!) The light was working Friday evening as I drive that way every day on my way home from work. Bottom line is alcohol and vehicles don't mix .. learn by others mistakes.
