Can't sleep! Hearing a low frequency pulse or hum. It is even louder when my head is on the pillow and it is maddening! What is this thing? My 11 year old woke up one night hearing it and tried to describe it.. She said it sounded like a Delta wave that she heard on white noise, only stronger. Not even sure who to call about it!
I know what you are talking about as my husband and I hear it almost every night and sometimes during the day. It's nice to know we are not alone. We have driven around trying to find where the sound is coming from with no luck. There are some serious forums regarding this but they are hard to find.

I live in Springtown and for more than six months have noticed a very low pitch rumbling or humming sound day and night when it is very quiet. Never stops! Sounds like a car's vibrating subwoofer system at a distance, low volume, but constant with short intermittent gaps, and extremely annoying especially at night when trying to sleep. I put my pillow over my head, hear it, listen to podcasts, hear it. Only solid silicone earplugs work when I want to sit or read in silence. Strangely it is only in the house where it is heard, in every room. I go outside and other than the steady stream of freeway noise I cannot hear the rumbling or locate the source, I go in the house, doors/windows closed or open, and there it is again. No sources inside the house, not tinnitus. Checked with Caltrans, they said it was probably freeway noise from Altamont; Isabel overpass construction is not 24 hours a day. Checked with the Independent, and City of Livermore, nothing...Search results on the web produce a ton of sites in the UK for low frequency sensitivity and noise, support groups, studies, etc. Cannot find anything for Livermore or the U.S. Anyone else out there experience this? It can't be just me! Nerve-racking!!!
REPONSE :- I looked this up because Ive been hearing a constant noise for about 3 days. Weird thing is I dont hear it in the bedroom. Ive checked for someone ticking their car engine over in the street, the noise is still there but no engines are running. Maybe were both going nuts, I know I will do if it dont stop soon. Janet

All you believe you are hearing any kind of noise is because some body, doctors, dentist or so on put inside of your body an ilegal electronic device implant,so go to a good family doctor and ask for an EMR,you'll be surprised.

Have the same thing happening here in West Michigan. Seems the North side of our house is the receiver of some signal and amplifies it. Go outside and the sound goes very weak. Hard to nail the source but the only thing that has changed in the last year is communication(cell)tower went up. Microwave towers project all over this State up to 30 miles. We are in a rural area.

I live in Glendora, CA and have been living with the exact same issue (the second time around now) since October 2012. New activity in the neighborhood lent itself to my believing that a neighbor is playing music. Sounds like a bass from a stereo and vibrates through my walls at night between the hours of 10:00pm. and 8:00a.m. The neighbor says its not him, police response cannot detect the sound because of the proximity of the freeway as well...inside I hear and feel the vibration, outside I can't tell where it is coming from. I'm about to lose my mind with sleep deprivation being pure torture. The sound goes off and on, so I can rest during the day. But its affecting my work situation since I'm a zombie. I am looking into a low frequency detector. Tired of the pat answers from people who downplay how horrible the situation is...not their fault, just uninformed. Will post more once I get answers. For now, I'm sleeping in the garage.

You can download this FFT/ Waterfall software from Spectrum Lab. It is very visual. All you need is a mic and a decent sound card to get you the level you need to ID the frequency signatures you have. If you want to move around and use it put it on a laptop. If you have questions contct me on c_o_p_s_ne@yahoo.com

Fool! Very easy to ridicule or patronize when somebody else has the problem. How would you like to live with a painful hemmerhoid day in, day out? That's what this is. Noise pollution is far more than nuisance. It is a health hazard analogous to second-hand cigarette smoke. Would you also tell someone to stop complain about smoke or a pig-sty in the neighborhood?

The only thing that saved my 6 year lab from death when the hum began here, was doggy prozac. Her body shook from fear for 3 months. This hum is serious shit.

We hear it all the time in hackettstown nj. It's a very low sound. When my dog hears it she shakes. It keeps us up. My mother lives downstairs and hears it as well. My husband isn't bothered by it as much tho. It drives me crazy

Add MS. To the list, stumbled on this thread at 430am searching what this noise is. First time I've heard it, just so happens I have a jl audio app with RTA and I used it walking around the house trying to find it. Started out at 100hz @ 40db rising up to 70db, by the time it was in full swing it was as low as 20hz which is pretty loud considering average room noise here is 40-45hz. For the peeps that say your all crazy, nope measured it. Would be pretty irritating if the wife didnt snore, ha!

Thanks for this information. What state do live in and do you have a Smart Meter? Also have you noticed any Chem Trails? I don't know what this noise is, but, I do know I hear it and I have a feeling it's not a good thing.
