She should not be in charge of what we read. She is part of the Police and Firefighters union.
You know the unions I am talking about. It is the union who pays everyone who works for them over $100,000 a year pension for life after they turn 50 and this is after they only paid 0% up to 10% from there paychecks, and remember they don't pay into Social security like the rest of us. So they don't have any real deductions

And how does this affect her being an editor for a small town news group? I'm not seeing the connection. And I believe there are other editors.

Come on I thought you were smarter then that. When she sees something she disagrees with she can just delete it, and she can decide what stories they put on the patch. STARTING WITH THE DUCK POND!!!!!!!!!! I SENT HER AND HER SIDE KICK EMAILS over 2 WEEKS AGO ASKING THEM TO LOOK INTO THE DUCK POND!!!! I GOT NO RESPONSE!!!!! JUST LIKE THE CITY. I sent all three of these overpaid jerks emails WARNING them of the hot weather we were going to have and could they do their job and get water in the pond so the fish don't die from the lack of water I got nothing!!!!! They did not care and did nothing about it. Another jerk is morning wood. He has never been to our BIG pond but he had a opinion and it was all negative and trying to say this was just a small hole in the ground with some dirty ass water.

I'd encourage you to breathe and consider this... I read the posts re: the duckpond and honestly if you came at me using the tone you use in your posts, I wouldn't go out of my way to help you either. I got tired of reading the gripes and I sent a single email to someone who I thought could help. I was NICE and within a day I received a phone call back. I find it amazing that within a few days the issue has been resolved. Hum.....

Quit the aggressive approach and see what happens. Really. It's not rocket science. People will help others MORE often than not AND do more than expected if you're simply NICE. Breathe.

Lisa dont even go there. You seem like a smart enough person to know that everyone has a braking point and after spending so much of my time last year trying to fix this problem and spending so much of my time this year trying to fix the problem I have every right to get mad. I have been talking to the management at the golf course I even had the Mayor call my house and we talked for about 20 min, Gary Stewart was the only person who responded this year. The reason he called me back is I ask him if he would talk to some of his old friends at the fire department and put water in the pond. I even offered my labor to try and fix the pump for the fountain, and I told them I would help with the dam. We even talked about the fish and how they will die AND THEY DID!!!!!!!!!!

First off, there are multiple editors. So I don't think Autumn can just go on a deleting rampage without her colleagues becoming suspicious.

And perhaps they didn't run the article because they didn't find it significant enough. It may be significant to you and other Springtown residents, but they have to post articles that appeal to a large audience. They're not going to "stay in business" if no one reads their articles. Readership is everything. Or perhaps they couldn't get enough info or facts to make an article of if.

You can say whatever about Autumn Johnson and her unionship. But I've seen plenty non-bias articles with her name on them.

And finally, I'm not going to take much offense or give much thought to someone who says they thought I was "smarter then that". Not when it's coming from someone who doesn't know the difference between "then" and "than". Sorry buddy.

let me start off by saying that you are putting words in mouth, and I'd like you to stop. Back to the pond, the only things I have commented about the pond are: the ducks have plenty of wetlands around the area to go to, the pond being low isn't going to kill them. The fact that the ducks are so comfortable around humans PROVES that spingtown residents have done more damage to the ducks eco-system then the pond ever could. Also that if your emails read anything like what you post on here, then I'm not surprised that you got zero attention from the city. As well as backing up Lisa's posts on who to contact to get some more attention to the pond and get some action taken, I even suggested calling the media to come down to the pond and for people to mention how springtown residents felt it would put a negative aspect on their neighborhood when the bike race comes through. I could care less about you calling me a jerk because I'm happy with the person I've become. And don't think for 1 second that you know anything about where I've been, I'm in springtown about 4 days out of the week, so yes, I am very familiar with the pond in question, I just think spending $3, 000 of the cities funds for a temporary fix isn't the answer. By the way, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
well then

I don't have a problem with Autumn per se. The problem I have with the Patch in general is they never follow up with their reports. For example, last year they reported a shooting in Pleasanton and said they will follow up when more details become available, but they never did. I had to read the follow up's from other sources. Autumn appears to be the biggest offender where that's concerned I've noticed. I don't dislike the Patch in general, I just feel that they let too many developing stories fall to the wayside, yet have no problem reporting 'silly' news about random, insignificant stories. I suppose "insignificant story' is subjective though.

I agree. I remember last summer, a woman was "arrested" by a fake police officer and raped off Valley. There was never any follow up on this. A suspect description sketch was given. Has he been arrested? Has he struck again? I don't know.

I dont' care for the patch or its new format designed to sell ad space. But i do have to argue with you. Cops and firefighters don't retire at 50 with a 100,000 a year salary. Maybe a select few, i am so sick o this issue, every single cop and fireman would have to have been hired at 20 years old to retire at 50 with those benifits. Don't know about you, but i dont see many 20 year old cops or fireman getting hired. Not the facts, also i agree with you and the duck pond issue, but you come across like a jerk when you write, i would probably have ignored you also. Maybe work on your personal skills a little. I am boycotting the patch for their crap they push off as news.

The caliber of journalism has definitely declined considerably since Kris Noceda's role changed sometime last year. I no longer rely on it for my community news. It's sad but true.
