My friend, who is passed, told me that there used to be businesses on both sides of the river, along between the two bridges. It doesn't look like there's enough room on the R.R. side.

Absolutely remember these stores and places of business. Baileysville Super market at the railroad crossing toward old BHS, Bud Harvey Grocery at the Bridge, Avant,s on the other side by the old BGS, Billy Lester,s store, Bill Trents store, Tom Asbury Gas Station, Big Mo,s place, Wayne Bailey and Minnies east end market. Baileysville in the early sixties was a thriving little town, good people and a lot of them. Audie Morgan,s place was nice over by BHS and Virgil and Carolyn,s place that use to sit over on the Road was a nice establishment. Even Bee Collins had a store at one time beside the Old Baileysville bridge on the Pigeon creek side. brings back some real good memories, it is a shame that all this was taken down, never had to happen, Baileysville should still be there and going full steam.
Like i said, nice Town and the best people that i have ever encountered.

Bill Trent was there when I was in the old grade school. Harry Cook came next, I believe.
I remember the old metal bridge and the coal truck
that broke through. I remember watching Ardel (cat)
Morgan walking the side beam from one end to the
other. He was one brave dude. Did any of you ever
try it? I was visiting Frank Fortner at his pig
pen when Ardel crossed.

I was there that day cat was something else. I saw B.B. cross it one night after a ballgame. I never did got to the top one time. (good memories)
