I hope that anybody that reads this takes the time to drop value city an email or just refuse to shop there. I want everone to know where value city stores hold the work ethics.
I can tell you first hand that value city is one of the biggest cover up the sex scandal since the catholic church.
I can tell you that there are several mangers that have been involved in alot of misconduct with the associates at the stores and if it is discovered guess what happens you report it and then you prove it beyond a shadow of doubt so then you get threatened by H.R. you get told that if you reveal your info that at that time you will be fired even though you did not do anything wrong, well then guess what happens the manager or management does not get fired instead they consider a transfer for that person, well if you then reply to H.R. and tell them that you dont think thats the right thing to do and you threaten to raise a stink about it then H.R. along with certain other upper managment decide that this publicity may not be such a good idea so then the manager or management gets fired but not for the sexual misconduct they get fired for not being productive, then when thats not a big enough coverup they allow the terminated manager to get unemployement because on the unemployement paper work it states that the manager was not fired for a misconduct issue (I know and can prove better)
I am sure that if by some means this post makes it back to certain people at corperate office they will know who I am but guess what (I cant still prove what I say).
I just think that good ole Value City should be a little more up front and not allow anyone to give false info to the unemployement board (hey isnt that illegal i think it is)
Good ole Value city by the way has anybody heard of a going out of business sale or a close date yet!!

This just shows not one side of corporate America but America as a whole. Our worthless government watches only for themselves and the almighty bottom line.

Its time for the American citizen to throw out the garage in the election year to come and not vote at all. Believe me, vote and we'll get Hillary Clinton or Osama Bama. So really what the difference. We really haven't had a decent government since Reagan(And I'm a democrat).

Regardless, Value Citys is minisqal. Our government is ethically and morally challenged and the majority of America we live in poverty my 2010.

If you think back through history when the America colonists were challenged by the same type of govenmental fundamentalistic bull, our country saw fit for a revolution (1776). History repeats itself all the time, so if we don't kill ourselves by ruining the earth, our government will eventually kill us slower over time by deepining their pockets and cutting holes in ours.

Company insurance benefits are unrealistic. Two thirds of my pay every two weeks is donated to my companys insurance (Optimum Choice (MAMSI)) and we don't get cost of living increases, try even attempt to stay afloat. Maybe, if Amercica starting taken back as was decided by our honest, moral fore-fathers and let us start over by their lessons.

PResident Bush is a worthless, no good, self serving hipocrit thinking of nothing otherthan is bottom line.

Where Wilkes Booth when you need him??Maybe someone will see this and make it to CNN or something and do a survey and see how many people agree with what I'm saying.

It's time for a change America.

You may not want to put that off for very long, I'm not sure about the furn stores but the dept stores are set to close in March 2008.

I am not sure who sjd was asking the question about it being the furniture store or the dept. store but what I have posted abouted is the dept. store. I can tell you this much I dont know of a company more deserving as to go out of business than this one. I think one thing that has hurt Value City is the way that they did all of their long term employees, so many of them were brought into the office and told that they no longer had jobs with the company. Then the managers of alot of these store had the nerve after a few months to call these long term associates back and offer them a job back with the company without benifits min. wage or just a little better than and will not allow them to even get 40 hours a week.
If Value city would have cleaned out some more people at the main office that doesnt do anything except try to keep the employees moral busted use threats against the employees and tell them that if they do report it that they will be terminated the company would have been so much better off. K. Simpson is one of these employees also K Rhodes. And as far as the mangers they really need to take a good look at them. Value City blames everthing else amd everyone else except the guilty parties, perfect example look at the conditions of the stores now versus what they use to be, look at sales how poor they are the company blamed everything and everyone except the manager of the store. If Value city would have changed managers in the stores (not all but most) this would have made the differance in the stores staying open versus closing. When is the last time that you have gone into one of these store and a manager just speak to you doesnt happen very often. Listen to the employees in the store and the will tell you had bad management is in the stores.
Well enough said

In my personal observation of this POS company, I beleive the potential 24 stores that are due to close by 2008 will get treated better than the remaining 89 VC's. The rest of the stores in my observations will shutdown ASAP after fastracked inventory's, which by the way are set and the DM'S are playing idiot's prentending to not know. Well some are just plain idiot's (ATL). For the rest of us, I think we will just be shit out of luck. Dave Smith, Rick Walker and the other POS who ran the company and should have been outed. Not to mention the worthless piece of shit Politzer who did not do a damn thing he said he was going to do 7% comp increase yrs ago. Not to mention Professor Heywood, who in turns owns half of the magazine company that VC is forced to sell so he can pocket his share, I would not be suprised if he ws in bed with the upgrade company in MD. But I am sure they will get there millions and get to keep there country club memberships, bastards cannot play golf anyway!. Not to mention the company brought back the most prehistoric figure known to man, B. Tavenner, he doesn't know whether he is coming or going half of the time. WTF does he know about LP anymore.(it's not the 70's) but hiding inside of fixtures and catching shoplifters, This is 07 There is modern edge technology available to utilize to cut the expense of human capital. These idot's buy DVR's that record for three days or most stores still use VCR's???? prob refurbished like all dept.84 they sell, So this leaves me saying that every DM knows what is going. Soon we will all know, but as for the 3241 execs, I woould not give a flying shit if Osama hit that shitty buildind you call a corporate office.

If you think the stores are bad, try working in the warehouses. They have some deal with an agency (and no, I don't know which one. You're not encouraged to ask questions of the Mexicans or even speak to them), anyway, they work these Mexicans for less than minimum wage. How do they get by with that?
Also everything you guys complain about in the store and more so. You can actually find Leads making out with the employees.

I do work in the DC. The "Mexicans" mentioned above work not for Value City but for a 3rd party logistics company "FARO". That company pays them for the work they do, not Value City.
All stores and DCs will be shutdown pretty soon. The DCs faster than the stores but not too far ahead. The schotenstiens north store (and maybe the other stores that are going to Burlington) will be closing in Jan acording to a few things I have read.
The Buyers stopped buying merchandise months ago, so there is no merchandise coming on the inbound side and the DC I work in will be empty in less than a week. Once the merchandise is gone from the building that will be it.
