Too bad the services are limited to a few visits a week. There are many who need more than that, but still don't need a nursing home environment.
Some perhaps even need 24 hour/day companionship due to memory or problem-solving loss, and help with all their activities, but could still live at home more cheaply than the nursing home if there was assistance with finding reliable help and wages. Seems that there could be a need for jobs that provide room & board plus a stipend, in exchange for such care, but finding reliable people to do it is such a hurdle. |

It is the powerful nursing home lobby that prevents more home health care. They put out commercials with what looks like a nurse to scare the heck out of people. Home health care is preferred by more seniors and is cheaper, too. Plus this builds more of a sense of community with our seniors rather than warehousing them just to make a nursing home corporation/executive rich.

This program is a great idea. Is there a provision for telehealth MedicAlert services for the home?
Thank you Steve Abate |
