He is a good guy and will do an outstanding job.Does it matter where he lives? nope. Its better that way, he "owes" no one, therefore he wont be on the buddy program like others in this outstanding county. Dont get me worng, Chief Parrish was an outstanding chief. Wish she didnt have to leave. But, Buchanan will do jsut fine.

The buddy program is what got Lambert the Chief's job. He's still on probation with the police department as a newly hired officer and gets elected Chief? McKinley Pate sold his sole to the devil to get Lambert in there and Preacher Benny was there with him. Congrats to Lambert for getting job. All he did was apply but the crooked elected officials put him in there. Hope to see Channel 2, 5, 11, 46 news out here on this one.

To think that small town actually has a paid position for Chief of Police is hard to believe.

Actually it does matter to me where he lives. I want my taxes contributed to the salaries of well deserving residents of this STATE. Keep our jobs here. Everybody wants us to support our local business, but they can't even support the local citizens that live here by giving them a job. There are many qualified and smart people that live here. And to Buchanan Implant you are right.

So, what you are saying Ethel is that you are prejudiced against people who arent from here? What a shame. I dont know how he got in there and really dont care, He is a good guy and will do a good job. Dont be so critical about where they are from. Let me guess, you wanted labo for chief? LMAO there is a winner for ya.

Firt off it was a done deal when Lambert was hired to begin with. it was a set up from the very beginning. He will be Mckinley Pates and Benny Westmorelands puppet. and Kenny Hughes is a follower.
Politcal favors? yes Backstabbing? yes. it is not right nor fair what and how it was done. As a citizen i saw, and was involved in the Police Dept. and was very satisfied with what they accomplished. but time will tell. what goes around comes around.

I don't have that much of a problem with him living outside the state unless he's driving a city vehicle home. Don't see the need in our tax money paying his gas ro and from work and from what I understand, that's exactly what he's doing. Driving that green blazer. What about that Mr. Pate, benny, and Hughes?

Well you know he drives a city vehicle home. Most cops do.

Actually, no they don't. Most city police departments only give take home cars to positions that require the officer to be on call, like investigators, traffic units, and so forth. County agencies are typically the departments that offer take home cars to everyone and almost all of them require you to live within a set radius from the jurisdiction to qualify. Sounds like this guy is getting a heck of a deal from the people of Buchanan.

I agree. If he lives in Alabama, how long would it take him to drive to work in the case of an emergency?

heard just a few minutes ago that there's a shakeup in the Police Dept. Lambert resigned? or is this just a rumor?

nope no rumor he resigned.
mayor veto'd election as per his rights according to the city charter and policy and as he said with his talk with city attorney.
so its all back up in the air again. i guess it does not pay to push, harass, give political favors or whatever to get "your" man in a position because if its done wrongly then someone will expose it. as far as the cars go no he did not drive city car home. none of the officers drive city cars home. only the investigator which is on call everynight basically.

The Buchanan Police Dept. should invest in training..... Experience has shown they do not have the training or just plain reasonably good judgment to handle a potential dangerous situation. It is probaly just as well they spend most of their time on the east side of town either drinking coffee and flirting at the gas station @ Hwy 27 & 120 or patroling the lake. I have property on Hwy 120 West of downtown and rarely, very rarely see them.
