I'm assuming she's talking about people bringing the sheets to work and badgering co-workers to buy cookies. I never liked it, because it seemed every other person had a daughter in Girl Scouts, and how can you buy cookies from every single kid?

I don't mind buying them from the stands outside Wal-Mart, though.

As for "what are the kids learning from this", I've never believed they're meant to learn *anything* from it! It's a FUND RAISER, not a project!!

Growing up, I was in Girl Scouts and sold cookies door to door. The reason this does not happen anymore is that it is not safe. Please think about the safety of children before you jump on this bandwagon complaint.

A lot of stores also don't allow soliciting outside their doors either. In fact, I personally hate being assaulted to buy something before walking into a store.

Everywhere I have worked, the Girl Scout sheets have been brought in, but never in an offensive way. They are usually left quietly in the break room. Those that want to order, do so. Those that don't, ignore it.

The thing that is more offensive to me are the constant school fundraisers. I see more of these at work than Girl Scout fundraisers. And the parents are constantly going cubicle to cubicle with these. I don't understand this - I never had this many fundraisers growing up and we are bombarded with these now. And honestly, there is no choice but to bring them to work because again - it's not safe to go door to door,

I usually only buy one or two items from these fundraisers, maybe ask a family member if it's something they might be interested in with no pressure, and I refuse to hit up my co-workers with this stuff.

if you were armed it would be safe to sell cookies anywhere you went. Its your government that is attempting to undermine any organized group.

I'm with the poster that mentioned the school fundraisers. They are a huge annoyance. The schools get plenty of my money every year at tax time. I don't even have children in school as well as several people I know who still pay their taxes without complaint each year. No, I will not leave, so don't give me that BS. Facts are facts, the schools need better allocation of funds.

So you are advocating arming little girls? That is one of the stupidest ideas I have ever heard.

Moving won't help anyway. It's an epidemic across the nation with these school fundraisers.

If you want your kids to do scouts, baseball, cheer leading, gymnastics or what ever else,
You foot the bill! Don't beg money from me!
It's aggravating and rude.

You said it. When I was a kid, we went door to door, but my mother was right there at the curb in the car. I never did my fund raiser peddling unsupervised.

They do slip up every now and then lol! I guess they get confused when flipping back and forth on names in forums lol! I have seen it happen many times just here. And of course they will deny being others because they think they can fool us. The slip up tells the tale.

LMAO!! Ok, either you are wob and slipped up in the name change routine and answered the question posted to you AND busted yourself once again OR if my recollection is right, you claim to be male but just admitted to going to bed with johns. Priceless! I would bet on the name change switcharoo slip up.
