I'm so surprised! I don't believe any of this. Why would a woman with a debit card be so spend-happy? Especially if it was not her money! Our schools are so superior to schools in say, Japan, that this would never happen. Besides, government money is never misappropriated or wasted, right? I think it's too bad she wasn't available for comment. She was probably getting her nails done. I'm sure this will all be cleared up. And when they do, I hope she goes to prison.

I can't make hide nor hair out of this article. Is an officer being investigated as the headline seems to suggest? Or is it an officer of the PTO? Not well written.

I think in todays economy anything can and will happen. Who knows what this woman was thinking at the time, I feel for her and her kids, here she is helping the school and then all of a sudden this.........crazy and sad. I hope she is able to resolve this without going to jail.

To Lakeville Parent:

Everyone is suffering in today's economy but does that mean we should resort to criminal acts? You seem to feel sorry for this woman????I don't get that, she STOLE money from other parents and kids and for ENTERTAINMENT reasons. She should really go serve her time and be done with is. It is really too bad if she has children, what a selfish, greedy, dishonest mother they have. I'm so tired of people believing that criminal actions should be looked past. Its crap like this that is contributing to our messed up economy. there is no honesty or accountability in this country anymore! WAKE UP!!!

Forensic accounting reveals all sorts of shady stuff... you can format a person's life by reviewing how they spend, what they buy, when they buy... It's income now too, and did she report it? If not, I hope the state DOR steps in as well. Also, every aspect of her lifestyle of spending is now subject to investigation and audit as the door has been opened. Previously a banker? Hmmm. Maybe this will be another 'victim' who claims abuse, and that's why she needed the money! No sympathy. Dollar a day in the workhouse for the theft, 10 years probation and random audits.

She hasn't been charged. She took responsibility and offered to return the money in full before charges were filed. Lawyers involved now. More to the story - so sad for this community... No excuses here, but there IS much more to the story.

I feel sorry for her children. Sorry kids it doesn't look like you'll be going to any more Gopher games because the nice policemen just took away the season tickets Mommy bought using the money she stole from your school. This is not a case of the bad economy, a victim, or an upstanding citizen that took responsibility for her actions. This is the case of a woman who feels like she is entitled to whatever she wants when she wants and will get it no matter what the cost or who she hurts. A lot of people are struggling in this bad economy just to put food on the table, and this woman is out using the school's hard earned money to continue living her lavish lifestyle. Trip to New York . . . how about a trip to jail.

There probably IS much more to the story ... and I'm guessing she doesn't want it to go public. You did get the so sad part right though ... so sad for her CHILDREN ... Mommy is a dishonest greedy thief who stole money from your school.

Of course she's sorry - everyone is sorry AFTER they get caught. Terminate her parental rights and put her in jail.

First of all, the victims in this are clearly every boy and girl who attends Oak Hills Elemenary School. These kids have put in countless hours selling items for the schools, rounding up their coins to buy books at the book fair, etc.

The PTO never should have been sitting on so much money for so long (and having un-monitored). These funds should have been put back into the school for the children to reap the benefits of their hard work!

2 years later, many of the kids whose efforts helped raise this money have moved on to Century Middle School to never see any fruition... how sad.

Next, PTO members: what were you thinking?! You should always have TWO signers to any account like this and never use a debit card. You are partially to blame in this as well. How careless.

Hopefully all the funds will be returned soon, and then put to use at the school immediately. Justice will prevail.

Amazed OHES Parent, before you speak, know your facts and don't be so careless with what you don't know. There were two signers on the account and there is no way to stop her from getting a debit card. Attend the PTO meetings and you will know why there was that amount of cash in the account.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Aries

One of the family needs plenty of love and attention today, but the trouble is that you may not be able to spare the time. If so, you'll be consumed with guilt and self-reproach, and this may become so strong that it casts a blight over the day. So do what you can to let them know you're thinking about them, but resist the temptation to berate yourself over things you can't change.
