Saltine I served in the same army that you did. Sixteen more resolution's to fail, fail for what? They were and are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. You were trained just like I was, to defend your country at all cost, so that would be Afgahistan, that's where Bin Laden is the last that I heard of him. They were no terriosts ties in Iraq so all the intelligence has reported, now I know that they are now. Don't get me wrong about this, I don't think that we should cut and run, I just question the original reason that Bush attacked Iraq. I served my time and enough for four or five more people and just like you I did as I was ordered to do, but that does not make it right. Now do you somehow think that the battle's of Iraq is totally the reason for keeping America safe, I would think it might help but I would also say that the main battle should be Afghanistan. I salute your service as I am proud of mine, but that makes neither of us correct now does it? As I stated before, we are trained to do as we are ordered to do, but I was also trained by someone long before that I ever knew about an army and they taught me never to pick a fight with someone unless they provoked me first.I hope you recover well and you can return to your unit if that is your plans.

Absolutely nothing!
We, the soldiers that is, got there with bipartisan support, with the vote of democrats like Swillary Clinton.

<quoted text>You must have been in a support MOS or AF, NAVY,or CG. You obviously have very little knowledge of the STRATEGIC picture in the mid-east. To have left iraq alone for 16 MORE UN resolutions to fail or be ignored would somehow have been the answer? What country did you serve? france? I haven't seen anymore unarmed Americans killed here by islamic terrorists since 9-11, have you? I have spent my time over there and am recovering from injureies incurred there and ain't bitching! What has it cost you? Me... 3 friends. And they all would go again if given the chance.
Young man I feel for you due to the fact you were wounded. I was in the Navy during Viet-Nam, a door gunner on a sh-3 rescue helicopter. I still have grenade fragments in my back, received while picking up a squad of wounded soldiers. I know your pain, but I don't agree with your view. We should Di-Di out of Iraq as fast as our transports can haul us. Its viet-nam all over again, and I for one lost too many friends and relatives back then. I was just hang-dog unlucky during my military career, I was also involved with that god awful debacle in Iran in 1980. So once again I wish you a speedy recovery and hope the best for you...

I understood, just got tired of reading before I got to that part. Maybe if you used big words I would have paid some attention. But anyway you put it war IS wrong, and never the answer to anything, hell I think I might go join the protesters.
right - the post is five lines long - i can understand why it exhausted you -

my whole point in making the post, which i thought was rather obvious, was that most folks often think of the numbers of dead because of war but seldom consider the far greater number butchered with the full approval of our laws - you can read insensitivity into that if you want - it's your choice - but, as a retired vet myself, i can assure you that war casualties weigh heavily on my thinking yet i surely do support our nation's decision to oust an evil dictator and to maintain our national security -

It was a sick, selfish, lame, vulgar attempt, to bring your issue to the attention of others by using the 4,000 USA Soldiers' lives that have been lost to promote anti-abortion.

You showed your value of their lives, as simply a tool to advance your political agenda.

That is what it was...nothing more.

Oh hold on! We DID NOT go into Iraq to remove him solely bush claimed there were WMD'S there, guess what there are or were none! How is being in Iraq maintaining our national security? All this war is doing is making us look bad! Because of bush and people like him Iraq is now a breeding ground for terrorists. The USA needs to keep our nose out of the middle east, the longer we are there the more people like bin laden will want to attack us.

as usual, dave, you are absolutely wrong - don't assume that the personal limitations you labor under that result from the requirement to follow the script of a political agenda are shared by others - the shallowness of the liberal psyche is not a universal human trait -

Thanks for your service to our Country and thanks for the speedy recovery wishes. I have nothing against the other branches of our military and apologise if taken that way. In this war most causualties have been overwhelmingly ARMY and USMC, the door-kickers/grunts, hell 88M's (transportation specialists). No harm meant. Every casualty is bad, no matter the service. We will just disagree on the strategy for our fight against people that want to kill Americans. I prefer over there instead of here. We are soft here. It took them two hours to kill 3000 of our non-combatants here, remember that? They'll be back as soon as they aren't busy over there in the sand. When we leave they ain't gonna throw a party and pet their donkey. They are coming here again.

Thanks for your service to our Country. We do as we are told, you're right. I just know that the monster we took out DID use WMD's on his own people and had invaded his neighbor before. Without oil, the WORLD starves. We acted I believe for betterment of the world. Not Haliburton and such as so many of the "blame America first" crowd would have you believe. Saddam DID try to kill GHW Bush, that is enough for me to fight them. So I did as trained.

It's not only the terriosts that don't want us in the middle east. Just about everyone of them does not want the United States spreading there propaganda and the life styles that Americans live is totally different than the Arabs. I for one sure the hell don't want them telling this country how we should live or have it forced on me. You think maybe they feel the same about us? I may not be the most intelligent person in the world, but I assure you they is more to this war in Iraq than meets the eye and we probably will never know the whole reason but I have already posted a big part of it. As I said before, I'm a G.I. to the bone, but I also know right from wrong.

so many blab about us going to war in iraq over oil - well, we went - we won - the action now is all post-war - well, since we did win there should be fleets of tankers hauling all that oil back to the u.s. of a.-
anybody seen any pictures ?
we had very good reasons for going to iraq - no matter what the domestic socialists say to spin the truth -

Did you say that you were retarded or retired? WE won, what the hell is wrong with you. If we won why are we still over there and troops are still getting killed daily? And the part about oil, when all this first started they said that part of the oil revenue would pay for the war and the last that I read it hasn't paid a nickle. Now for the good reason's,give to me in order and be truthful about if you can?

i say that because of my generous nature - actually i think you do know the difference and that you are making your silly statments because you are addicted to hearing, obeying and speaking driveral -

It is the safest time to be in the military in the last 35 years. Look at the stats for the last 35 years.... we have less people killed while on duty now than when in PEACE! Check the numbers thru the DOD, see if I'm right. I am a Vet from the 80's and also a OEF Soldier. We lost more "training" in the last 20 years than when we have been at WAR for the last 5 years. You smart bastards just need to do your homework.......... WTF? Check the 90's, I think '96 was 2400+ per year. 4000 in 5 years of combat? What is wrong with you moonbats? I'd sure go again if I wasn't disabled now. We are in a good fight for right.

Funimule, you and your post war clean up, maybe you can attend Obama's church and help clean that up if you don't mind, because neither one of you know anything about reality.
