I am so sorry to learn about the robbery incident near the soccer field. Whoever did this crime needs to have justice served accordingly. Somebody out there knows something about this crime and hopefully will do the right thing by reporting it to the Police. The news report didn’t mention anything about the victim being injured, but it did mention the robber had a gun. If you have any useful information about the criminal please help get him off the streets. Next time the situation could end quite differently and an innocent person could get shot or killed.
I feel very badly for the person who went through this situation. It must have frightened and upset them a lot.

What did Lindsey Wilson college do? Was the student alone? I think we deserve to know the specifics.

Parts of the college were on lockdown and an email was sent out afterwords stating students should walk in pairs and that public safety would escort you at anytime you need them to and yes the student was alone.

it would not be 'politically correct',... to disclose a description of the 'perpetrator'
liberal politics takes precedent over common sense and safety

This incident has nothing at all to do with being politically correct. You are confused in your own mind. Below I have copied and posted from Columbia Magazine’s news update.
The Columbia Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.The incident occurred around 8:30pmCT. on this date near the soccer field at Lindsey Wilson College. The victim while walking, was approached by a man wearing a mask, armed with a gun, and demanding money.

The perpetrator fled on foot, and the victim sustained no injuries. Perpetrator is described as a white male, approximately 5' 10:, 170 lbs. wearing dark clothing, and a black ski mask during the robbery. Investigation is pending, and anyone with information can contact the Columbia Police Department, or any law enforcement agency. The Columbia Police Department was assisted by the Adair County Sheriff's Department. Columbia Police Department

people used to like Columbia and LWC because it was a safe , wholesome and crime free environment
nowadays we have shootings ,..murders ,...meth labs & dopers

and now can add an armed robber to the list

dont be surprised if enrolment at LWC starts to droop in the next few years ,.....

The first reported robbery was a failed attempt, which occurred near a dorm on campus at about 9:15 p.m. About an hour later, another student reported getting robbed of a wallet near a soccer field. Both students were threatened with a gun, but each were unharmed.

Campus police sent three crime alerts to students overnight Thursday. One sent at 11:12 p.m. Thursday read: "Person with a gun. Stay inside / lock doors. Lockdown in progress."

Text alerts are usually sent in active shooter or hostage situations. The lockdown was lifted at 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, although a suspect has not been apprehended. Campus police say their investigation is ongoing.
