Kristin, I had a few decals made today, but I'm sure it wasn't enough. You can order them through The Sign Shop in Graham. The lady told me they would be six dollars each for individual orders or four dollars each if you order in bulk. I had them do a bass fish with a golf club in it's mouth. It has "In Memory Of" above the fish and "Mike Richardson" below. They look really good. I hope to see one on just about every vehicle in Breckenridge. On the shirts...How do I order them from the website that was posted? I didn't see a link or anything that would take you to the right shirts. Thanks again to every one for your prayers.

I was one of the ones that went and ordered shirts today I am not sure about the website but I know you should be able to call them and just tell them that you are looking for the shirts for mike they say Justice for Mike and have a pic of him and his grandson on it. We have got decals also being started with this same place. Hope this helps you.

For those of you that have tried to log onto www.localtoast.com and didn't receive your conformation e-mail. I'm activating those accounts, so try back with your username and password you used when signing up. For some reason hotmail and yahoo acounts have trouble receiving the conformation e-mails. If you didn't get an email back, try to log on a bit later as I am activating those accounts.

FYI! You don't know about the law. The Great State of Texas teaches it's Law Enforcement that you DO NOT fire warning shots.

i knew michael and he was a great guy, never hurt anyone or anything in his whole life and yes the turn over rate of police in this town is amazing,a few good ones have been asked to leave because of politics, they make up the rules as they go along and thats the truth.we get all the rejects from the big city.believe me these cops are great at chasing skunks and wild animals but when it comes to people, they don't have a clue.they believe give me a gun give me a badge and call me god!after all lets shoot and kill someone cause they killed a fence, don't just shoot out his tires where he cant drive off but hell lets kill him and then ask him to surrender?3 bullets in one tire?thats pathetic, and what kind of a burglary suspect drives a brand new dodge pickup?once again a pathetic police force who lives off of our taxes!

My only question is, will the Texas Ranger's report be accepted as the final word? Good or bad will it be accepted as the unbiased decision that is? Or will claims continue as they are now?

I've gotten quite a few... Try again, I'm activating the accounts manualy as they come in, as folks that have hotmail and yahoo accounts have problems geting the email... Check your trash folders for the conformations. I will try to check as often as I can, so if you don't get your e-mail, just keep trying back using your username and password. If you have an email account that is not hotmail or yahoo, use that e-mail when signing up.

For all you people stating, "You all sure don't have a problem calling the police, which you're bashing here, when you need help!"... that is because, unfortunately, it is ILLEGAL to take the law into your own hands. Trust me, 99% of the time... I'd love to handle the situation myself. Unfortunately, I have to wait an hour for the "law" to show up, to take a measly report, only to have the case shoved in a drawer for months.

People speeding through a residential area, almost hitting my kids. Officer shows up, and can't do a damned thing because he didn't "witness" it. Have a window bashed out of my car, and stuff stolen from it... an officer shows up, doesn't even bother to dust the car, takes a report and states "We'll be in contact with you". They'll never call you back! I even had a credit card stolen from my car, and called Wal-Mart MYSELF to have them pull the camera of the people using it. The store official told me they had CLEAR images of the individuals using the card. I called the detective working my case and informed him of the findings. A week later I contacted the detective for an update? He hadn't gotten around to picking up the tape! By that time, Wal-Mart had already destroyed it.

So, if I've lost faith in most law enforcement agencies today... this, added w/ what happened here, is why! Can't call me biased either, because I currently WORK for a PD (not as an officer), and the stuff we are required to INTENTIONALLY keep from the public is frightening. If the people of my community ONLY knew what really happens out there, and on the inside... and the measures my department goes to keep it "inside". You can't exactly blow whistles either, because it seems working in law enforcement... most portions of cases are protected from public release. Fortunate, isn't it?

Too many secrets... too many secrets.

I was Mike's sister in law for 12 years. He was one of the good guys. He would help total strangers when they were in need. It didn't matter who you were, if you needed help and Mike could help, he did. He was never in any kind of trouble. I'm not 100% sure what happened, I wasn't there and I'm not going to speculate. I can tell you this,,,it could have been prevented. There is no reason why the officer had to shoot to kill. I have been with his two boys and their mom for the past two days...Let me tell ya, they are devastated. Those two boys will now have to finish growing up without a dad. Mike's daughter will have to raise her son without his Grandpa. So,unless you've gone through something like this, you have no idea what they have been put through for no reason. No matter what happened,,Mike didn't have to die because of it. Please stop the trash talk and just pray for his kids and family and friends. He had a bunch! R.I.P. Mike......WE LOVE YOU!!
Thanks Mick for many laughs and smiles playing golf. You are a true hero.....

Read this thoroughly, and carefully. I'm seeing more reports coming online within the last few hours.

Pay special attention to the phrases I've copied here (taken from this specific article):

A.[Morrow said there was .22 caliber gun on the front seat of the truck and that it appeared to the officers that Richardson "was leaning down to pick it up."]

B.["The gun barrel was in the floor board," Morrow said. "When he reached for the gun, shots were fired."]

C.[Angelo Santos, who lives a few yards away from where Richardson's truck wrecked, awoke to the sound of gunshots early Saturday morning. He said his wife woke him after she heard four shots.

"I heard them saying get out of the car," Santos recalled. "Then I heard the last shots."

He said he saw one officer attempt to break the driver's side window with his flashlight.

"Then they opened the other door, and I knew he was dead," Santos said.]

D.[Santos said that while he was on his way to work about 7 a.m. Saturday he saw investigators pulling the rifle out of the back seat of the four-door pickup.]

----

Now, anybody see a MAJOR conflict between what was reported by the police (statements A & B), and that reported by a witness (statement D)?
If infact the gun was mounted behind Michael, the impact of the initial wreck could have dislogged the weapon onto the back floor. The confrontation took place, which fatal shots were fired (which DID NOT involve the initial firearm claim by officers). It would've been only after the preliminary search of the vehicle after Michael was removed, that the firearm was found (which would explain why it was recovered from the backseat, and HOURS after the altercation [7 am?]). This is just speculation on what could've happened; however, if the witness statement is accurate... BPD has some serious explaining to do. I'm EXTREMELY curious as to whether BPD units are equipped w/ built-in dash audio/video equipment, and whether it was properly initiated before the call began?

I'll post further breakdowns of reports as I find them.

Questions I would like to see answered:

1. Was a proper 10-28/29 ran on the vehicle upon officer arrival to the scene?(If so, the return should've come back to the registered owner of the vehicle. They could've known who they were potentially dealing w/ BEFORE ever exiting their vehicles).

2. How many officers were actually present AT THE TIME of the shootings (both the fatal shot, and the initial shots fired at the tires)?

3. Were shots fired at the vehicle tires before or after officers informed Michael to disable the vehicle?

4. How many rounds were shot into the vehicle, with the intent to strike Michael?

5. Why, according to preliminary witness & officer statements, where there "multiple" attempts to break a vehicle window w/ a flashlight?(Had they been able to break the windows to begin with, they could've grabbed for Michael before any other altercations could have taken place).

6. Also according to these statements, the officers stated they seen a firearm in the floorboard area of the truck, and opened fire when they seen Michael "go for" the gun? Could Michael of passing out, or simply moving over to one side of the vehicle been mistaken for him "going for" this firearm? Define "going for".
And, does "going for" a weapon (meaning the weapon currently isn't in-hand and finger not near the trigger) warrant the use of deadly force?

7. If, according to officer statements, the firearm was on the front floorboard... why did a witness see investigators pulling the firearm, in question, out of the BACKSEAT hours after the shooting occured?

Why did the bartender at Potter's let Michael take the other guy home if like all the reports I have read say "alcohol may have been involved"? Apparently, the bartender thought Michael was ok to drive! Or does Potter's usually serve people past the point they should? Potter's should be also investigated!
