Sounds like George Edwards aka Llamas aka Edwardz is jealous because he got trounced in the debates.

I guess the sky has to be falling and the city needs to be in " dire trouble" otherwise there's no point to Mr. Edwards claim that he's the only one who can save the city. Seems odd the idea that every single person on the city staff and the council are corrupt. He seems to see corruption everywhere, when other people don't.

Reasonable, I guess Carl Westerhoff's explanation saying the City Hall cost would lead to disincorporation is just an impersonation of George Edwards saying the sky is falling. Westerhoff detailed the City Hall being built would be basically approved to have an office building after disincorporation. Since the County would have no reason to provide a new office building afterwards. The city would have to cover the PERS costs to begin the disincorporation process. That would be an additional 1.2 million? For this to be brought up at Council shows it is being considered.
The City Manager has already admitted we don't have reserves, only a general fund. So whoever Reasonable is must be in favor of bankrupting the city with this project. Now that it is approved, the new council would have to eat, what is it $195K, to halt the project. So it appears anyone who alerts the public the situation is "dire" is tagged as George Edwards. Your hatred of George Edwards blinds you to the reality of the future insolvency of this city. City Hall renovation is the catalyst.

Carl Westerhoff voted against the renovation and said it was the step towards disincorporation. Reasonable, you are in favor of disincorporation by bankrupting the city via this shady approval of the project. If the "sky does fall" don't blame it on Edwards, blame it on those who blindly moved this project forward with no escape hatch.

I didn't hear Mr. Westerhoff say the City Hall project would lead to disincorporation. I heard him say that he was in favor of the project but that a future council may feel differently which would mean the costs for plans, etc. would be for naught. Remember the vote was to take one more step and designate more funds towards the project. So to be clear , he was in favor of the project but realized he wouldn't be around to see the project through. By the way I don't hate Mr. Edwards but I do feel that when you look further at his positions they don't seem reasonable and are " blinded" by his mantra of no taxes no matter what.

Westerhoff mentioned several disincorporation scenarios.
There are unfunded pers costs of 2+ million he said would have to be paid before disincorporation and as mentioned above, better to put money in the park building before disincorporation.

My point is Mr. Westerhoff DID NOT vote against the the next step of the renovation process due to disincorporation worries or being against the renovation. He voted no because he would not be on the council to see the process through.

He stated he was in favor of the project and his disincorporation statements were in response to a different issue that was raised.

That may be true, but he also said he wasn't going to vote for it because of conflict of interest, though he did not explain what that was or who or what he was talking about.

Either way, it is a federal crime.

Due to voter requests, possibly because of news such as a candidate announcing his bankruptcy or proposing new taxes, the City election office has issued an unprecedented ruling that those who have already turned in vote by mail (absentee) ballots may change their votes!

You can request a new absentee ballot and have your original voided out.

The deadline is Monday February 25th at 6:00 p.m.

Really? This is what you guys choose to talk about? Are you really claiming he stole mail? C'mon now that's ridiculous. How about focusing on city issues? Really pitiful. With those comments I'm assuming you're for Edwards. Or maybe you are Edwards

Really? back to you.

Obviously, the person was making a joke.

While it is concerning we have a bankrupt candidate who can't afford, or doesn't want to buy, stamps, the situation does lend itself to humor.

Humorlessness is a trait of the LHHIA gang that wants a stranglehold on control.

No, this is George Edwardz. Welcome to the discussion. Lets get started and talk about the issues. But first make sure you are all up to speed by reading the latest LaHabraHeights.net newsletter. Kyle Millers Bankruptcy is of particular interest.

Is this guy serious about being on the city council? He just filed bankruptcy last year, and now breaks a federal law with mailboxes. I wonder what he is going to be like on your city council. Maybe laws don't apply to him and he can do whatever he sees fit. If this dude gets elected, then your town is the laughing stock of all the cities nearby.

I guess the Improvement Association would literally vote for anyone, as long as it is not George Edwards. If the three candidates not already council were really interested in the city, not just getting elected or preventing Edwards from getting elected, maybe they could have proven it by actually showing up at a Council meeting. When the camera pans to the audience their faces appear less frequently than Amelia Earhart. Now they are running they have put their faces on camera for the public to see. I doubt they are capable of understanding the issues fully without one of their "mentors" feeding them the answers. Yet the IA lockstep supports them. Stan Carroll and Carl Westerhoff spend "their own money" to endorse Higgins and Miller. You get what you pay for I guess.

I've seen a lot living in the heights. But this constant negativity truly saddens me. I hope the people here read this. I contacted Mr. Miller, it's easy to do, and he told me this about the " mailbox issue". To expedite his candidate information to residents who had requested vote by mail applications he personally delivered them to the few residents rather than wait a few days for the mail. Some residents had gates so he dropped the info in the mail box for them. That's it, end of story. No scandal.

So I say to candidates please, please, please focus on your ideas to better our city. Focus on yourself. Particularly Mr. Edwards who took the time to check in but said absolutely nothing about himself. Please Mr. Edwards focus on yourself and give me some good ideas for the city and why I should vote for you.

Good spin attempt, but contrary to facts.

Residents who reported receiving Miller's mail did not ask Kyle Miller for his information and were offended at his accessing their mailboxes.

And.......... none of them have gates!

What say you now Mr. Miller?

So you are saying that it is okay for him to break a federal law to "expediate getting his candidate information" to those residents?
So the end justifies the means?
Sorry, I see a guy who will do anything to benefit himself. There is nothing wrong with that but not when he is our councilman.
