I am not sure why there is so much trash talking on this Blog regarding club vs. signature. These are childen we are talking about. It is a game. It is great news that the Signature teams did well. Good for those girls. They worked hard and they deserve credit. No one should wishing anyone ill will signature or club. I will guarantee you that if those signature girls are better than average players, they will be leaving the signature teams within the next season or two for club teams. Why would they stay at signture level? what left do they have left to prove? Do you want your kids playing at a level where they beat up on other signature teams? What good does that do them. Why not challenge them and put them on a club team where they play other higher level player. And don't be fooled...signature costs Money. It is not free. They pay for tournaments and uniforms and training and it is not cheap.

Players are leaving, so the program is working as designed. Creates openings for others and coaches have to rebuild. That is good.

No one has made an intelligent arguement for club at LMSA. Not any value for the masses. Very little forthe few. Players will still leave for other coaches.

Sorry, wasn't a he who informed me.
Anyway, fact was season was not over. Even if you were no longer a BOD there or not.You dropped the team.
It was for the best anyways, that team went on to be a great team with the DAD that took over. But then politics stepped in again and forced him out and the team fell apart.

Not part of the BOD, you dont know if I am or not, so get off the horse. Getting the coaches to a coaches meeting shouldn't be an issue....Have you even tried it?? NO.. Simple if you want to be a coach, get your license and attend (2) classes, held by LMSA a year, or your not eligible...

This is not rocket science. Its called implementation. Those that truley want to make LMSA better will attend, those that dont, either have a good reason or are the problem.

Funny how people talk behind your back while hiding, but that's not what happened, he only knows what he thinks he saw, so again you are still miss-informed. I didn't run for re-election as president, so I wasn't on the BOD so I had no responsibilities to relinquish. I did have to step away from the BU9 team because of work but left it with the asst coach in 2006 but I think I could be wrong the fall season was over, I took over the team when the coach left in Aug - didn't have time then but the kids needed someone- before the season started, he probably didn't tell you that did he or the kids wouldn't have had a team to play on.
But really what are you trying to accomplish here are you trying to show people how big an ass I am really just ask I'll tell you.
The comment about coaches and training- PLEASE I REALLY MEAN THIS TELL US HOW TO GET THE COACHES TO THE CLASSES REALLY ADD SOME VALUE TELL US HOW to get them there. Learning and growing is what we are trying to do again help us tell us what we should be doing better but we need real ideas with details not just we should, outlines or a written plan, come to a meeting to share or just lay it out here, what would you do to make LMSA better give us a incremental detailed plan.
The BOD hasn't forgot why we are here come to a meeting and you'll see, you don't see everything that goes on just the stuff that is right in front of you. The training Dir has worked really hard to get info out but so many don't go the those classes.
Give us some examples of extreme "dads" and what we didn't do?
"Same old techniques, don't keep you in the game, they just help you keep up." What newer tech are we not doing, that we should be doing? those that aren't doing what do you think should be done? what is it that they should be doing and what are they doing? is their training plan out of date if so why? How can their plan be better. please you think I'm an idiot so be specific please remember I'm old and blond and need pictures LOL
And will you run for the BOD next year? I still think that if you want to help us GROWTH - physically, emotionally, spiratually and most importantly MENTALLY" contact Don he'll gladly get you involved and that goes to any of you obviously we need the help so help us out..

If you are talking about the team I was asked to help out when the coach went on vacation, he came back I was done. No team I left ever became great, what team are you talking about?
Never meant to imply that you were on the BOD I know your not.
BTW we have had coaches clinics/classes and very few show up. Some do and those will be better. Really "if you want to coach" LOL we cant even get enough coaches now for the kids and then tell them they MUST attend classes LOL don't you want kids to play, I have trouble trying to get the Sig coaches to get their "D" lic. This is why I know you aren't on the BOD or in any decision making process at LMSA PLEASE come to the meetings.
BTW bad mouthing me isn't doing any good, we all know that I'm an ass and there are always two sides to a coin.
You are gone and I wish you and all those that chose to go all the luck in the world, you guys had a good first year and should have an even better year next season.

The problem is that you have coaches that think it is about them. They convince a group to leave if they don't get their way. They continue to hold a grudge and try to bad mouh the program that would't bow to them even after they left. LMSA did not get hurt by them leaving. Gu11 & Gu12 Sig were outstanding. Gu12 rec team won Commissioners cup. This would have been your age group. The players and parents are welcomed back anytime. Your arrogance can stay in Whittier.

You must be referring to Lopez. How did his club team do? How many players left already?

Yes, GU12 division did not suffer, neither the Rec, or dominant U11 & U12 Sig teams. My bet is girls who left could have gotten better training from either of the two head coaches than Lopez.

Look offering coaches additional training, to learn proper drills, is not a bad thing and should be priority. I do agree its hard to find people to coach, that is the point, they dont know the proper drills, so teach them...
Curious what you meant by Good First year?? My child has been playing club for 8 years and is on a Gold team.. Who are you referring too. I know a few parent that were on that team. I however was not part of that team, but another a few years older. I have helped coach and train for 6 of those. So I do know a little bit about training and coaching, but you seem to think you know me.

Opinions, opinions, opinions, dont assume, you know what assuming does. It makes an @** out of you and me.

To all talking trash about club, do your own research. LMSA is there to provide kids a great experience with soccer. To keep them playing this great sport. Fullerton Rangers is a top Coast Soccer league Club.
Strikers FC is a top SCDSL soccer Club, along with Legends. But these are huge clubs, with over 200 teams each. Training is a higher level than Rec or Signature. Just a fact. Most LMSA coaches are great coaches and are part of the board. More should be involved on the board. Some should not.
Strikers FC - whittier is improving, all teams. so dont knock them. Most of the teams there are way more advanced in play than Signature. So for the Moms and/or Dads or ex club coaches that dis the club experience dont know what the SCDSL is or stands for. It is not about the Win percentage, it is about development.
I know Rob and Steve, they run a great program and are great trainers. Lopez as most of you bash, is doing a good job as a coach/trainer. I heard they have a new trainer, not sure who. But I wish all the club teams good long same as LMSA.
If you have not seen any of the local clubs play, there are (3) big tournaments coming up, go and watch your childs age bracket and see for yourself.
This is my final transmission..........

We are unhappy with our sons experience last Fall with Rangers... Too long to go into. He has been invited to play as guest player in State Cup with Strikers. However before coming on board with Strikers, I would like to know all the facts upfront. Where will STRIKERS FC be practicing in Fall 2013? Coach evades the question.

They have the WSC till Oct 2013 then they have to be out

They will be practicing at several MS's and Elementary schools in Whittier and maybe La Habra.
No home playing fields after Oct just yet.

I wish LMSA had better signature coaches. Why can't they pay trainers? They pay referees too much money.
