It's about time we have a Casino in Orange County. Riverside County is receiving a lot of tax money that could have been used in Orange County.

Not fair!
The cities have allowed the "Card Gambling" casinos to come into their town without blinking an eye, like the one in Commerce and other areas. Now when the Natives of this area are asking for what should be rightly granted to them, they are given excuse after excuse, mean while many of our ancestors are passing away in poverty and old age and never realizing the dream of Federal recognition or or at least having the State of California Recognize that they deserve benefits too. With all the computers and technology there is no reason why the Federal or State should take so long to recognize these tribes. Note this tribe is not asking for a free ride. This tribe is asking respect, that is long overdue.

Many of the people that are apposed to the Gabrielino Indians having a Casino anywhere are "other" Indian tribes, like Morongo, Pechanga, and San Manuel. Remember when you wanted our vote so you could continue to have YOUR casino? Are the Gabrielino Indians non existant? I know some Morongo Indians that are receiving monthly payments that are less blood quantum than some Gabrilinos. Come on let's share.

Thuc Hang, how can you tell somebody to move when you are a foreigner yourself. How would you feel if somebody tried to deny you and your family from acheiving your dreams when you migrated to america. I hope the best for you and your family!

RE: American

I know I'm just assuming and all, but you are starting to sound like a hypocritical, xenophobic conversative. This is from what I read from your two posts so far.

Remember to keep an open mind about the whole casino situation and stop being plain ignorant.

There you go city council men and governor, read every comments on this issue. The majority of the people agree for a new casino in Garden Grove. Let the dice roll and stop making excuses.

Come on GG, who is going to want to visit a London Bridge? Or go to a memorial to King Hussein? Yawn, Yawn, how exciting is that? Those places might be okay to go see maybe once. then what, been there done that.A Wall mart oh boy that will bring big tourist dollars. Let's make Wal mart ceos richer, heaven knows They need it. they barely pay minimum wage and work their employees to death. You have to call the main office just to ask for a day off. Don't even think about calling in sick for yourself or heaven forbid your child has to go to a doctor.GG need to add some excitement to their City. Let's hold Mr Stein to his word. Make him keep his part of the deal and give the student's college money, and jobs with union pay scale for the locals.Good Luck Gabrielinos.

Just remember people: When the casino comes to Garden Grove, so might alot of other things. Then you'll have to deal with it. The people in Garden Grove have trouble with the Adult Book Stores do you think the atmosphere of the casino is going to be better? Good luck with that

You guys want to know why things don't ever change for the better in Garden Grove? Because we have people like Dina Nguyen for council who would illegal lobby against projects that they dont' like even before it gets to be presented in a public hearing. She doesn't care about this community, she's power hungry and has no shame. At least Janet Nguyen is fair in her judgement and think about the community as a whole. She's independent in her thinking and it shows. We need better representation. JANET NGUYEN FOR SUPERVISOR!!!

I lived in te St Louis when the casino boats started to float. Everyone made arguements about the undesireable affects. IMHO quite the opposit happened. The casinos (5) all did well. After many years the Casino Queen built an nice hotel. And East St Louis regained respectability. The card rooms have been here since i was a kid when the state judged poker a game of skill more than chance. Anyway, in this economy anything that brings jobs - I'm for it. I don't live in Garden Grove anymore but close enough to have an oppinion.
