Just shows our generation that we are not invincible. She was a great girl, just never thought drunk driving would be the reason she died.

Your friendship was a blessing
and i will miss you so
we shared so many secrets.
you brightened up my days,
you brought me so much happiness
with your kind and loving ways
you lifted up my spirits
when i was feeling blue
no matter what was happening you knew just what to do
we ran between the raindrops
and walked beneath the sun
ran barefoot in the summertime
an oh, we had such fun,
through all the ups and downs of life the good times and the sad
from high school days to golden years the best friend i EVER had
God is here to take you home now you and i must part.
I love you and forever my BEST FRIEND.

Her friends confirmed she was drinking n driving. You can read it on her instagram. It's so sad that she chose that but her true friend would never let a friend get behind the wheel clearly seeing the condition she was in.
R.I.P Brit

Hopefully everyone learns to be smart about their decisions. All of this could be prevented.

Drinking and driving will NEVER result in anything positive. What a shame. So young with a lifetime ahead of her.

It's very sad to hear about what happened, and yes Friends don't let Friends drive drunk,"TRUE FRIENDS". I seen this girl that night around 2:30 or so driving with two flat tires on passenger side, following two males in a dark blue bmw and was even more shocked that the driver would step out of his car to yell at the woman from his car, brittany, wake the fck up, wake the fck up instead of giving her the help she so obviously needed. We were the only three cars on colima and whittier stopped at a red light, i watched as i drove from a distance as this woman was inches from hitting at least twenty cars parked on colima. It looked like they were just taking her on wild goose chase because they got half way up colima only for them to make a u-turn back towards whittier blvd knowing she was following them she looked so out of it. I can't help but think that these two males she was following knew that brittany was not able to drive that night drunk and on two flat tires this was a irresponsible choice especially if they were not as high on alcohol as she was..

no use putting the guilt trip on someone else...Britney should have known she was not safe to drive so it's no use trying to make anyone else feel bad. God was going to take her regardless, it was her time. Everything does happen for a reason, even if she was young.

How can you put that on someone els? She was the one who drove, her friends were following her and she passed away. It not anyone's fault but brittneys. Maybe it was just her time to go. She's missed and If you were lucky to know her then cherish it.

Exactly! I'm laughing at morons who are blaming the median!

Thousands of motorists go through Mar Vista each and every day with no problem. If accidents there have gone up in recent years, it's probably due to cell phones.

If medians such as these are killing off people who are stupid enough to talk or text while driving, put up more of them! Let's get those idiots out of the gene pool, preferably before they procreate!!

Judy Reyes Estrada: "Today we found out that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the accident."
Her aunt said she was drunk. Don't blame the roads. It's clear she made a dumb decision...She's gone and you can't do anything. People need to really need to be responsible. It's so sad but everything happens for a reason hopefully it raises awareness to teens

Wow, Elizabeth! You're so quick to tell someone to slow down but you don't warn anyone about drunk driving? Very interesting...

No one is disrespecting her me work, they're just trying to emphasize it was an accident that could have been prevented. She was a great individual but she did make a mistake and hopefully people can learn from this but lets be real, nothing is going to change.

Idiots asking people to respect Brittney and her family, when she obviously had no respect for them.

Drinking and driving is not an offense that warrants the death penalty, nor is texting, or being momentarily distracted by a child in the back seat. The fact remains, if not for these so called "medians", I am familiar with them, they are more like bulworks, this young girl would still be alive. Anon, if you would like to debate this up close and personal, by all means, get back to me, I'm local.

Wrong. People stupid enough to do those things while driving deserve to die, especially if it can happen without hurting anyone else. Too often, they hurt others while walking away without a scatch.

People stupid enough to text & drive will hopefully die before procreating, so they don't pass on their stupidity.
