La Mirada mayor apologizes for DUI arrest

Mayor Gabe Garcia addressed his arrest for drunken driving at Tuesday's City Council meeting, where one member of the audience member called for his resignation.

His apology was "I made a mistake" Mr Garcia, you did not make a mistake you knew you should not have gotten in the car drunk. You did not make a mistake. Remember what happened to my neighbor who was killed by a drunk driver in La Mirada by a young man last year, "Did he make a mistake to?"

He needs to resign! This is absurd! When you make a mistake you usually get sympathy from someone else. This man did not make a mistake. He does NOT deserve sympathy. He "screwed" up. He needs to face REAL consequences for this REAL issue.

This is a sad event. But I just wish they would tell the truth. The article says Capt Maxwell was on "patrol"? Captain's don't go on patrol. It says Garcia was walking away from the accident. That's a hit and run. The facts should be reported, no cover ups.

What? The Mayor of La Mirada hit some car while drunk? Whoa, when was this? He bailed from the scene? HA! The Captain was on patrol? HA! Ahhh man, you can't make this stuff up! To be that BUZZED that you hit stationary stuff and then flee the scene on foot is just irresponsible. I'm sure this isn't the first time he's driven fueled to gills on Booze. Probably should resign then hit up Betty Ford.
