Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Woman In O.C.

Advocacy/Mental Health Groups have done training/inservices with local police departments. Lethal force is supposed to be a last resort when someone is suspected of being "out-of-their-mind" or not fully in control of their faculties. Sometimes hard to differentiate between that and a drug crazed/potentially violent person. I highly doubt lethally shooting someone leaves them happy & high.

On the flip side your comment "I am in shock at how arrogant, rude, homophobic, sexist and racist police officers are these days and how much crazy bull s#$% they get away with." Only applies to a few bad eggs. See how the police are in Mexico & other supposed "civilized-democratic " nations. How about the reverse for the officers who put up with "bull s#$%" : entitled OC royalty, i-can-do-no-wrong, i-have-a-lawyer, i'm-proud-of-being-an arrogant-disrespectful-a++hole , its-never-my-fault, the-law/rules-apply-to-everyon e-else-im-the-exception, let-me-call-the-police-cause-i -wanna-sue-my neighbor-over-their: pets/parking/shrubbery-blockin g-my-view?
Its amazing how much restraint is involved in dealing with the raw, ugliness and out-of-control characters that cross paths with them.
Yes, there needs to be more disclosure, citizens monitoring & accountability! And we do have more than one investigatory avenue when situations like this arise.

if she didnt do anything to anyone, there was no need to shoot. The police officers should be capable of subduing her. Without even trying, shooting this woman was wrong. Plus, she had problems with her mom and was overcome with emotion. Obviously, if the police tried talking it out with her first, she wouldve stopped. The shoot was totally unnecessary. Why the heck would you endanger someones life if they havent done anything to you. I seriously think the police should be trained better to handle these situations well

I have worked with police officers closely at my job and have witnessed many wrong doings on the part of the officers. You can argue against it, but YOU KNOW DAMN WELL, it's true. I have lived on Sher lane my entire life and not once have I witnessed anything like this. Although, not knowing everything about what happened, I can only say how I feel about what I witnessed. If by chance, she happened to reach for another weapon, I do agree, she should have been shot. If she charged the cops with her knife, they {1. Should have been behind their vehicle doors for protection.{2. Should have incapacitated her, NOT kill her. That's my opinion.

I am not a cop , but I know you sure a great cop there behind you computer typing in what you would do. Please, "because I know you risk your life everyday for those around you" protect me with your great hidesight. There are 3 types of people Sheep(you), Sheepdogs(cops, firefighters, military) and wolfves (people that use other people) you as a sheep hate the sheepdog and think you can do so much better than the sheepdog. ...these days the authorities do not have to pass an eye test...famous quote.."I THOUGHT IT WAS A GUN" and I feared for my life"....cell phone, calculator, tennis ball (TAMPA, FL), school ruler, walking cain (MOBILE, AL), numerous examples...the best one this decade...CHARLOTTE, NC...A cable repair person, working on a tower transmitter on 3rd shift; about 0300hrs, wearing head phones, talking to another tech technician, was shot dead on the spot by charlotte police. "I thought he had a gun, I was scared for my life". commands were given by the police to the victim, but he had communication head set on and could not hear the commands. he was working out of the company provided tool box and was pulling out a tester wand from his tool box. He left behind 2 young children and a wife. After all was said and done, the FBI were called in because of "RIGHT'S VIOLATION"...NOT ONLY DID THE EX-POLICEMAN GO TO JAIL (32 MONTHS) but the police chief was fired. The city settled out of court and the civil trail favored the family..only after two appeals...it's not uncommon to see police equipment to have a WHITE CAIN attached to their belt.

I would love to see more officers shot to death, as well as court judges and other court personnel like family mediators and the fat asses who work at the clerk and records departments. i'm waiting for the day to watch on t.v. a couple of snipers with a machine guns taking out a bunch of cops all at once and then taking out a few judges. that would make my day. It's odd to me how easy it is for you to shoot your mouth off from your safe home and give an opinion when you were not there and have no idea what really happened or know how officers are trained and what they go through to get where they are!Someday you will need help. What will you do? Call the very people that you are bad mouthing here. The hard working dedicated men and women who risk their lives everyday to protect and serve.

How do you know they did not try to talk it out with her were you there? Did you personally witness these events unfold?
