The truth is that just because one is incarcerated doesn't mean you have to treat anyone less than you would treat your own family. Every human is deserving of respect. You are paid to maintain order and control. Yes, they do act up and cause trouble and as a trained professional your job is to diffuse the situation not react in the same manner. I'm a officer in the juvenile system as well for the last ten years. The wards are treated unfairly and yes , they're not angels but our job is not to judge. Why don't we put all politicians in jail for not doing the job they're hired to do instead! Filthy animals!! They're not teenagers and they know better. Law enforcement is gang. Why not lock them up and see how they like it.

Anyone who gets excited about treating prisoners like animals needs to remember that most of these animals are released back into society at some point. Do we want people that have been job-trained, educated, and rehabilitated released? OR do we want hardened people that were treated poorly getting out of lockup with a chip on their shoulder for society? It seems like a lot of Americans want the latter, which is completely short sighted.

I was in YTS 1978 to 80 it was life changing. I had to grow up fast or die young people in my life would never believe i was in such a violent place. Im a top rated Chef and it all started in the staff dining hall at YTS thanks to a man there name Chef Govan spelling of his name may be wrong. The program worked for me and my crime partner ex La puente N/hood Crips. We were both taken from YTS straight too ontario airport and paroled out of state me to Detroit and my crime partner to Davenport. We both moved back too cali and never commited crimes again

ive toured the units, culinary, dining area, the place is a trap, too many blind spots, should not be used as a correctional facility, the tiers are too small, no outage or secure escape for corr employees, it should be permanently closed and not utilized for anything but a bulldozer. all employees must stay safe, be safe, never be alone....period. no gun control will be present and if so, it doesnt deter bodily harm to the hard working corr employees, the dept already did major layoffs and cuts, its gonna be very dangerous, i choose to never enter the place

....And this is not okay. These "Youth" are lost in their own ways. If you know whats better you should be doing better. What about any gang makes a person tough or "hard". What these YA kids need today, like this guy here, is to sound judgement. Let them see how they need to adjust their life so they can face the right direction, which is to take care of themselves and earn their own way.
