Will the public officials of the city of Diamond Bar and the Walnut Valley Unified School district listen to the public/citizens/voters? It is quite apparent that the concept of public property is unclear to at least one of the City Council people or staff who made a comment that Site D was 'private property' and so nothing could be done to stop the 'owner' from doing what it wanted. That is probably news to the tax payers of Diamond Bar who thought they are the actual owners of Site D... and who are going to have to foot the bill for the premature Environmental Impact Report on a speculative proposal seemingly geared to artificially raise the value of the land so that if eventually the general plan was changed to zone Site D as an open space or park, the price would be extremely high thereby discouraging it's purchase by the city or a conservation entity.
An possible idea which might work is that a commitment is made by the City Council to let the land remain as a natural open space park and pays the School Board a fee to lease or rent with option to buy the property at a reasonable price spread out over many years. That way the School Board would have a set amount of money to budget in light of the extreme fluctuations caused by the current State governor taking all the taxes and still cutting education funding.
A question: how many people in the Walnut Valley School District still vote Republican?

It was interesting to watch Councilman Tye who sounded so slick in his remarks at the council meeting regarding Site D.

Watch out...Tye wants to run for Assembly....No Way!

The city council is greedy. We like to keep south DB the way it is. If a mall is opened, the existing H Mart mall will close down. The H mart mall still has many empty stores including the old movie theatre. We will have another ghost strip mall in south Diamond Bar.

Please fight against this development in south Diamond Bar.
