Many in the USA believe an economic crash, and EMP or widespread disaster is right around the corner. One thing is for sure, the world is in turmoil. Between earthquakes, disastrous weather events and economic collapse, the world in the year 2011 is much less stable than in the past.

Are you ready to meet the challenge? If local infrastructure is destroyed, how will you feed yourself and your family? How will you protect them if police, fire and emergency services are too busy to help you?

Many see people that prepare for such conditions as “Conspiracy Theorists” or “Survivalists” along with associated images of tin-foil hats and straight jackets. We are out to prove them wrong. We're not crazy. We're not conspiracy theorists. We simply believe that regardless of the disaster, be it natural or man made, it is our own, private responsibility to take care of ourselves and our families with a minimum of government assistance.

Do you see it this way? Would you like to contact other like-minded men and women in your area?

We are the Clay County Mutual Assistance Group and we'd sure like to contact you! We can be reached at:

Well, I suppose this thread is a possible indicator of how many people in Clay County are interested in *NOT* bowing to government dependence during disaster.

OK. So, I'll just continue to watch the sheople wallow in their talk about how bad crime is, drug dealers and police brutality.

Is anyone interested in a little more independence? Anyone?

I really am getting tired of bumping this thread all by myself. But, its an important subject. I wonder how may people read the title and just draw a blank. The sheople are like that. Dumb.

Forget it TEOTWAWKI. Nobody cares about this stuff. They're too busy watching TV and going to cookouts.

I'm on your http://www.alt-market.com site too. I'll PM you there and we'll get together. Surely there are more than just the two of us in ClayCo...

Its pretty amazing that this is getting absolutely no attention. It doesn't really surprize me, I guess. Most of the topix people are very much like "sheep". They just don't think ahead.

There are several disaster preparedness workshops planned. They require vetted invites and only word of mouth advertisement is allowed.

That last one was in southern Clay County and was put on by a nationally known person and included range practice at a private range....very, very private!

It was fantastic and informative. I learned a lot and taught a lot. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Wow! No activity since may. I can see that this place is so very il-prepped. Glad my basement is packed with goodies. WTSHTF it will be interesting watching most people beg the government for assistance. Lazy morons.

I think Nobody Has A Clue is right. If the TVs still work and the bar is open, to hell with preparedness.

Its pretty amazing when you think about it. With most places implementing this JITD (Just In Time Delivery) system, very little is warehoused on site. This means that if there is a supply interruption there will be an instant shortage.

Once there is a shortage, people will panic and hoard stuff like nobodies business. People that don't pay attention will be SOL real fast.

I really wonder what will happen. It will certainly be interesting to see these people complain.

So, Terre Teller, without being too specific, what are you storing?

I'm doing the store what you eat, eat what you store thing. I've got about 3 months of canned goods in addition to about 6 months worth of long term storables (rice, wheat and corn). I rotate out the long term stuff for chicken feed.
