So the 1999 F-5 tornado had 301 MPH winds…you know, in extreme tornado alley. So why didn’t the city and their school system build below ground tornado structures…

We are such a lazy culture...

Already greater than fifty today...

Thirty-six people died in this tornado.[5] Over 8,000 homes were badly damaged or destroyed and the tornado caused $1.1 billion in damage (adjusted for inflation), making it the most costly tornado in U.S. history,[6] a record since broken by the 2011 Joplin tornado. This was also the deadliest tornado in the U.S. since the April 10, 1979 Wichita Falls, Texas Tornado which killed 42 people.[7] However, early warning saved many lives.

"As nightfall approached, determined searchers in hard hats dug in the debris for students possibly trapped, but authorities described the work as a recovery, not rescue, effort."

Is this bs or what? They found people in earthquake rubble for days and weeks after the event...

Tornados have always been a problem wherever hot air meets cold. The 1st settlers in what we now call 'Tornado Alley' 200 years ago built underground shelters from the tornados
