State transportation commissioner advocates in Keene for NH gas taxBy Meghan Foley Sentinel Staff

An increase in the state’s gas tax would buy New Hampshire $25 million worth of resurfacing projects for more than 200 miles of its worst roads, the state’s transportation commissioner said Monday.
About 6 percent of those miles would be in the Monadnock Region, including roads passing through the towns of Charlestown, Dublin, Harrisville, Jaffrey, Marlborough, Sullivan, Stoddard, Swanzey and Troy, Commissioner Christopher D. Clement Sr. told a group of leaders in Keene.(See related box, Page A1.)
In addition, a higher gas tax would give the state Department of Transportation an additional $7 million for cities and towns to help repair and replace bridges under their jurisdiction, he said.
It wouldn’t fix all of New Hampshire’s infrastructure woes, but it’d be a start in making sure the state can maintain what it has, he said.
Clement delivered the news, as well as other information about his agency’s efforts to upkeep roads and bridges statewide, during a meeting with area legislators, business leaders and local officials Monday morning at River Valley Community College’s Keene Academic Center.
His visit is part of a statewide speaking tour he has engaged in to try to get residents, business owners and government officials to rally behind a gas tax hike and to understand the challenges the N.H. Department of Transportation is facing.
Clement’s message: The transportation department can’t do its job unless it gets the proper funding — and at the very least that means enough to maintain the state’s existing transportation infrastructure.

The D. O. T. has Hinsdale listed between Hillsborough and Holderness in spelling but in money to spendtheir in the middle of the state while Hinsdale is a outcast up against a state that wants to spend more money on looks than the structure.

Come on, NH proportions spending according to wealth, influence, population and votes...never according to real needs of a community.
