Low rivers and lack of rain raise summer drought fears

Duh, you think?

Water levels spur concerns about wildlife, fisheries, growing season

At a time when rivers and streams throughout the region usually crest, much of the state is bone dry and many rivers are at record lows. The stark levels - caused by one of the driest and warmest winters on record in Massachusetts - have raised fears among state officials and environmental advocates about pervasive drought this summer and widespread failures of fish to spawn in freshwater breeding grounds. Increased algae blooms and swimming bans are also possible.

'Our we in a drought?'

How many times have I told you how stupid I am?

Lots, so why do you keep subjecting us to it? Have mercy, have compassion, stop using this as your personal bi-polar blog!

Heh! Nope, chill your ego for a bit Mikey, I actually see your name CONSTANTLY here on posts, and just sort through them until I see anybody else! You never have anything new to say, and you just answer yourself over and over. Whats a pain in the but is having to search so much through your name so often. But don't flatter yourself, I promise *nobody* here reads all your posts.

www.blogspot.com - you could make your own blog easily, no intelligence or skill required, and you could even post pictures and stuff and get emails from folks interested and etc. It would be a much better personal blog forum than this one.

I enjoy reading Mikes posts, I am a fan of the thinking outloud, word stream process. Though I usually do most of my writing out loud without posting it all on a public forum.
Although there is not nuch more than a few people who ever talk here.
I find it interesting to watch someone write so openly.
He is sort of like a Kilgore Trout who is writing some kind of autobiographical blog documentary.

So what kind of story is going to trip us into the awareness we are in full scale NE Drought emergency...probrably lot of town and city water advisories?

The feds saying we are full scale drought...

What will we see later on...restriction on water withdrawals and power plant's reaching their heat sink low flow, level and temperature design limits...

Not enough river flow to dilute waste discharges.

Another die off of lobsters Long Island Sound if there is any left from the last drought...

A bunch of nuclear plants asking for emergency permission to exceed their design limitiation...

Wonder what the historical context is for the low precipitation at this time of year, our river flows...what does a early spring drought for tell to us for this summer?

Are we in a historical weather event already?

Look at this USGA freaking water flow red monster in New England...then from George/Florida, to the Iowa Illinois, Wisconsin, the upper Midwest...Jesus Christ the Eastern half of US is on fire.

The history is this deapens as the summer hits.

Buckling railroads and highways, mind-boggling power outages...we discovered on a humongous level our water systems and sewer system aren't designed for our climate...our climates.

Dead and dying trees on a enormous scale, historic NE wildfires...years of tree/power system problems.

Yep, and no leave cover and the blowing low humidity winds...

I think the drought emergency will emerge as a wild fire problem. Why is there so many fires in NE?

Wait till the nut cases think they can gain attention by setting wild fires? Will the loggers think they gain advantage by setting fires?

Wouldn't that be neat, modeling or gaming out how the world would look if the rain spigots turn off for a summer...for one or two years in the Eastern USA?

Different scenarios...

Remember the knocking off their socks Texan drought?

I can see a mega disaster movie or history channel deal coming out this....

Yep, our electric system isn't designed for our climate.
